Skeletor vs. Darkness.

The scenario:

In a parrallel continuity, Skeletor, after achieving godhood with the power of Grayskull, gains possession of the Cosmic Key.
After torturing Guildor to death to try to gain the key's secrets proves futile, he decides to  fiddle with it's controls.
It's during this clumsy fumbling that he is inadvertantly hurtled to back in time to an unknown fantasy world. There, he attracts the attention of the lord of all evil, Darkness.

Yeah, that's plausable enough. Let's get to the damn fight already.

Analysis:

Okay, Frank Langella's and Tim Curry's performances in their respective films were fantastically evil.
There it's a relative tie.

Darkness and God Skeletor both have evil presence, both have big ass horns, both are snappy dressers.
Again, a tie.

Let's anylize power stats.

Darkness is the lord of all evil.

Skeletor OTOH, is normally just an extremely powerful sorcerer with a skull face.
But, we're talking power of Grayskull Frank Langella Godhood Skeletor.
As a being of pure evil embued with the powers of the universe, he is clearly Darkness's equal.

Their power levels are equal, but what about skills?

Darkness has demonstrated, inanimate matter creation (the cursed evil dress, the goblet filling with black wine, etc) although it is never demonstrated, we can assume he could create all the weapons he needs in the fight.
As for his actual fighting prowess, he has only demonstrated super strength only equal to a superior athlete (throwing Tom Cruise around like a rag doll) and exceptional running speed. His running speed although augmented with trick photography in the film to relatively indicate he can reach the striding gait of a horse, close examination reveals that he probably only posseses the speed of a superior athlete as well.
As for endurance, we see him riddled with arrows, and although they do indeed peirce his hide, he shrugs them off and suffers no ill effects of the associated internal tissue truama that would be an issue with mortal beings.
One assumes if he removed the offending missles frm his body he would heal quickly if not instantly. Indications are, the wounds already healed around the arrows as there was little to no blood and the arrows thunked into him like a hunk of wood.
Given that he only has one weakness (more on that later), it's also safe to assume even radical catosrophic injury would be inadaquate to kill him.

Now, to his weakness.
Sunlight.
Plain old natures own, incandescent fusion reacter ball in the sky genereated sunlight.
Although, even that failed to TRULY kill him.
As he said at the end "what is light without DARK!?!?".

Sure enough, at the end of the film we see Darkness alive and well cackling wickedly.

Skeletor survived the end of his film in a similar fashion.

Skeletor's invulnerability is more difficult to gauge as we didn't see He-Man deliver any damage to him. It's safe to assume in god form, he was immortal until he was struck with his weakness.

Namely, the destruction of his havoc staff.

It took the Sword of Grayskull to break it though, and Darkness doesn't have the Sword of Grayskull.

The sword of Grayskull is nothing to sneeze at. Eternia is the navigational and energy center of the universe. Castle Grayskull is the power center of Eternia. The sword of Grayskull is the key/lightning bolt/focal point/channel/totem/etc of Grayskull. Therefore, the sword of Grayskull is the conduit of the power of the universe itself. When He-Man screams "I have the powerrrrr!!!!", he friggin' means it.

That it took so much power to crack the havoc staff says that it too is no Cracker Jacks prize of a power item.

With the havoc staff and his energy blasts capable of vaporizing tissue, Skeletor would seem to have the edge.

Yet, as I mentioned Darkness is impervious to all harm except sunlight. Yet, even sunlight can't really kill him.

So, what with their powers and invulnerabilty, they're clearly evenly matched.

Skeletor would seem to have the edge with his energy bolts and havoc staff, but in the long run they are innefective on the immortal Darkness.

Too evenly matched, too close to call.

Only YOU can decide!
