Age: 14 Gender: Male Eye Color: Dark Brown Hair Color: Jet Black Social Status: Student and Rei kai Tantei Strength Level: Class A to Class S Seiyuu: Nozomu Sasaki Urameshi Yuusuke, the 14-year-old student of Sarayashiki High(?) who tends to cut class and is the probably most feared. Well, except for Yukimura Keiko, Yuusuke's childhood friend. And there's his rival(or whatever), Kuwabara Kazuma. One day, he spots a little boy playing with a ball on the road and he goes over to tell the kid(by making funny faces) not to play on the road. Well, the kid doesn't listen and his ball rolls to the road. The kid goes to get the ball while a careless driver was about to crash into him. Yuusuke sees this and saves the kid, which of course, causes him to get killed. That was when he first met Botan, the bubbly Grim Reaper, a ferry girl of Reikai(the Spirit World). At first, Yuusuke didn't really care because he thought that the people he knew would have been better off without him. But after seeing Keiko, Atsuko(his drunk mother), Mr. Takenaka(his principal/teacher), and Kuwabara's reactions, he thought about it. She tells him that even if he hasn't saved the little boy, he would have been fine, giving him a chance to become resurrected. Botan brings him to Reikai, to see Enma Daiou Jr., better know as Koenma. Koenma's the little toddler with a teenage form, but we don't see that until later on the series. He gives Yuusuke a golden egg. The egg is like a reflection to Yuusuke's personality. For example, if Yuusuke's personality is rotten, then the egg will hatch into a monster and eat him. (I have no idea what the egg is for, hehe.) |

There were several things Yuusuke had to do before he got resurrected. He told Keiko that to keep his body safe, so that he can be resurrected. In an episode, an inspector, Sayaka, a little girl in night clothes, took notes on Yuusuke's relationship with Keiko. Yuusuke kept on denying that he cared for Keiko more than just a friend. Botan and Sayaka saw right through that lie. On the same day, his body almost got burnt when his house was set on fire. Keiko poored water over herself, and went in to save Yuusuke's body. When she got to Yuusuke's body, she was surround by the fire, and had no way out. Sayaka told him to use the egg given to him by Koenma, to save Keiko, but it would also mean his life(or whatever, because he was already dead). Miraculously, the fire disappeared because of the egg, and Yuusuke didn't disappear.
Now Yuusuke was ready to be resurrected. The only way throught this was by the lips. He would have to wait another 50 years if he was too late. Luckily, Keiko kissed him in time, so he came back to life. Oh, but this is just the beginning... Yuusuke's mother: Atsuko Atsuko is Yuusuke's drunk mother. She seems to be insane, but she actually cares a lot for Yuusuke. She cried hysterically when she was informed about Yuusuke's death. We don't know much about her husband, for he was never mentioned in the anime(although I heard he was mentioned in the manga). Yuusuke's ancestor: Raizen Yuusuke found out about having some youkai blood when he fought Sensui. Raizen was one of the three rulers of Makai. Raizen went to the Ningenkai to eat humans(that's the only thing he ate). He was injured and hid in one of the human's homes. A woman from the house was very different from all the other humans. She didn't fear Raizen. She found him and healed him with some herbs mixed with some blood of her own. When she went to sleep, Raizen attempted to eat her. She knew this so she flashed her body at him and asked him "Would you eat me now?" So they fell in love, mated, and he left, leaving her to give birth. Yuusuke's Techniques
