But even if he fools around most of the time, he can be serious. He loves animals, especially cats, and he owns one named Eikichi. Nobody actually calls him Kazuma except for Yukina and his sister, Shizuru. At the beginning, Yuusuke was Kuwabara's arch rival. He was the strongest in the school, making Kuwabara second most strongest. Even if he isn't as strong as Yuusuke, he is willing to study in school. After Kuwabara started going on missions with Yuusuke, they become very good friends. Unlike most humans, Kuwabara has the sixth sense. He can sense whether things are lurking behind him or what's a trap or not. Shizuru also has that kind of ability. Kuwabara can also talk telepathically between people, like Yukina when she was captured by Tarukane. Kuwabara first had a little crush on Botan, but after he saw Yukina, he fell in love. He was able to win the match against Reisho, of Team Mashou Tsukai, because of Yukina. Just seeing her presence boosted up Kuwabara's energy. But what he doesn't know is that Yukina has a twin brother, none other than... Hiei. Kuwabara probably hates him the most. Well, not enough to kill, but he doesn't like being called weak. There is no stopping those two.

Kuwabara's Techniques Rei Ken (Spirit Sword): It's Kuwabara's reiki in a form of the sword. After Yuusuke trained with Genkai, he learned to make it extend. He can also use two at a time. Rei Shuriken: This technique is like a bunch of bullets made of reiki that Kuwabara shoots from his hands. He uses this on Toguro Ani(elder Toguro) and also on the youkai who mirror-moved his attacks from the second movie. Jigen Tou (Dimensional Sword): Kuwabara has the ability to create a sword that can cut through dimensions. He was kidnapped by some of Sensui's minions because they knew he had this ability. He then used the sword to get to Makai along with Youko Kurama and Hiei to defeat Sensui.
