Whoever said Hiei's last name is Jaganshi? I don't think that's confirmed.

Hiei is the quiet one of the group. If you annoy him, there's not going to be a good chance of you living. It may not seem like it, but Hiei actually cares about his friends and would be willing to fight for them.
Hiei's past was a very harsh one. His mother, Hina, mated with an outsider fire demon. She gave birth to twins. One named Yukina, the other is Hiei. The elders of the floating island of Koorime(ice maidens) said that a fire demon would be bad luck. Thus, Hiei was dubbed "the forbidden child". They couldn't keep Hiei, so he had to die. Hina begged to keep Hiei, saying that "You can band me from the island. I can take care of both of them myself!" The elders didn't let her. Rui, Hina's best friend, gave Hiei his mother's Hiruiseki, a gem formed by a Koorime's tears. She also told him that she would be waiting for his revenge. Then she threw Hiei off the island.
A pack of thieves found Hiei, covered with bandages and warded, took him in and so, he lived with them for a couple of years. At age 5, he already became a class-A youkai, and was probrably feared by everyone. The thieves left him, so Hiei went on his own.
One day, while Hiei was fighting, his opponent slice off his necklace with his mother's Hiruiseki, so he went to find it. Hiei heard of a man named Shigure, who implanted a third eye named the Jagan. Knowing that he would never find the Hiruiseki, he decided to go see Shigure for himself. Hiei's operation was extremely painful and took most of his energy. His youki reduced to class-D type. Then he went off in search of his Hiruiseki.
After Hiei had his Jagan implantation, he found the floating island of Koorime. He found Rui, who didn't realize Hiei, and asked her about Hina. Rui led him to Hina's grave and informed him that Hina committed suicide (or did she die of depression?). She also told him that Hina's daughter, Yukina, went off in search of her brother. When Hiei was leaving, Rui realized that Hiei was the child she threw, and was left on the floor, crying. Hiei then went to look for Yukina.
Hiei and Kurama met when he mistakened him for one of Yatsude's minions. He thought that Yatsude, a man-eating youkai, ate Yukina. Hiei found Kurama with Maya, a girl in Kurama's class who had a crush on him and also had the ability to see spirits, and attacked him. Hiei fought Kurama, but was wounded and was taken to Kurama's house and healed. Kurama asked Hiei for his name and surprisingly enough, he gave it to him. Then he left to fight Yatsude. Kurama went along with him because he was informed that Maya never came home when he told her to. Hiei asked Yatsude who the Koorime he ate was. He told him that he didn't remember. So Hiei and Kurama fought against Yatsude and sliced him in three. Kurama erased Maya's memories, including his feeling for him. Hiei asked Kurama for his name, saying that he will try to remember. Hiei continued looking for Yukina. A year later, they would meet again to steal the three Reikai artifacts. Kurama and Hiei became the best of partners and friends, even though Hiei will never admit it.
Mukuro, one of the three rulers of Makai, sent Hiei an invitation asking Hiei to come to Makai and fight on her side. She left Hiei to fight in a room in her castle with 500 lower-class youkai and he killed every single one of them. She then held a match between Hiei and Shigure. Hiei won the match, but in the process, cut his arm off(on purpose). Mukuro placed him in a regenerating tank, and showed him her true form(thank the gods he was unconscious). Under all the bandages and wards, half her body was replaced with cybernetic material(I haven't the slightest clue what it is).
I haven't seen the last few episodes yet so I don't know much about Hiei's match against Mukuro or Mukuro's past.
Hiei's Techniques
Katana (Sword): The sword that Hiei carries and uses most of the time. He can use his katana to slash his opponent 16 times in the blink of an eye. The blade of his katana broke once or twice, and somehow manages to get another one.
Ensatsu Koku Ryu Ha ( ?? Black Dragon Wave/ Dragon of the Darkness Flame): This technique requires a lot of Hiei's energy. Hiei unwraps the bandages on his arm, revealing a black dragon(it's like a tatoo) coiled around his arm. He used this to kill Ziru, and he used it against Bui. Hiei also uses the black dragon in the movie, and killed a youkai who injured Yukina.
Jaou Ensatsu Ken (Sword of the Darkness Flame): Jaou Ensatsu Ken is created with youki and Hiei's broken katana. It does not necessarily have to be broken. The attack kind of looks like Kuwabara's Rei Ken, except with the colors of a glowish green and black.
Ensatsu Rengoku Shou (Fist of the Mortal Flame): Hiei's fists grow flames and throws fast punches at his opponents. I think I've seen him use this attack on Kuromomo Tarou, but I'm not so sure.
