Cardcaptor Sakura is a 70 episode series along with two movies. In the series, Sakura Kinomoto wanders into her father’s library in the basement. She then discovers this book which she opens and discovers that there were cards with pictures on them. She read one card called “Windy” and the card released its power scattering all the cards in different places outside. After that, a winged yellow animal comes out of the book. It turns out that this yellow look-alike plush toy is not what it seems. It’s Cerebus the winged lion and he’s not in his true form. He prefers to be called Kero. Since it was Sakura who opened the clowbook and let loose of all the clow cards in it, she has to go find them and capture them all. Kero gives Sakura the magic staff to use clow cards and capture them with. And so begins the adventures of Cardcaptors.
Sakura goes to school one day and meets a new transfer student in her class. His name is Li Syaoran. He is also a cardcaptor and he aids Sakura in capturing the cards. They became rivals but still helped her. Somehow he falls in love with Sakura.
After she has captured all of the clow cards, the moon guardian Yue appears. This was called the final judgement. Yue appears to be the same person as Yuki, her brother’s best friend and whom she had a crush on. She needs to defeat him before she is officially Master of the Clow cards. Yue is apparently very tough. Sakura still thinks that it’s Yuki and she can’t hurt him. She is then binded and loses consciousness. The decorative bird head was gone now, replaced by a gold star inset into a pink circle with a pair of white wings adorned on each side. She defeats Yue by using the windy card. She is then called Mistress of the Clow cards.
This mysterious transfer student named Eriol comes to Sakura’s school one day. He actually helps Sakura to use her clow cards to change them all into her own cards using her own power, Sakura cards. During this season Li finally tells Sakura that he’s in love with her, but he has to go back to Hong Kong soon. Sakura runs to meet Li at the airport before he leaves her forever. Li gives her a teddy bear and that’s the end of the Cardcaptors.
