THE TUTOR
A Fruits Basket Darefic

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Here's my entry into the "point" dare round of fics. My apologies for the lack of lemon, but with two deaths in the family in just as many days, I'm not exactly in a lemony mood. *bows* I hope you will enjoy this at any rate. Some things should be left to the imagination anyway. *wink*

"Point...what point?"

"Damn Yankee...there has to be a point!"

"No there doesn't, Kyon-kyon."

"Then what's the point?!"

"Exactly."

Kyo Sohma nearly howled in frustration while Arisa Uotani barely suppressed a smirk. She had thought being stuck tutoring Kyo in literature was going to be the dullest job she'd ever had. But in fact, it was turning out to be a riot.

Her enjoyment was furthered by her "student's" frustration. She so enjoyed playing with him; toying with his mind and watching him squirm at moments like these. It was like playing with a pet kitten, swinging the string before its face and watching it swat at it while you pulled it away.

"Perhaps you should read the passage again."

"I don't want to read it again," Kyo grumbled with a sigh. He closed the book in his lap and tossed it onto the table in front of him. It slid towards Arisa stopping just inches from the edge of the table. "I've read it three times already. If I didn't get it the first time, I won't get it the fourth time around, that's for sure."

She tried to hold back another snicker. She failed. "You're not trying hard enough."

"I never said this was one of my best subject you know," Kyo shot back. "And I sure as hell didn't ask for you as my tutor!"

Arisa's anger started to grow as well. It's not like she wanted to be there with him. Sure he was fun to pick on and she had been having a good time up to that point, but now the fun was over and she wanted to be somewhere else...wherever Kyo wasn't preferably.

"You make it sound like it's my fault. I didn't ask for the highest mark in the class either you know." She didn't mean to yell, but she couldn't keep her own frustration out of her voice. "It's not my fault I just happened to like Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew". Hell I don't even READ that much and I got the story."

Kyo muttered something under his breath. Standing from his chair he reached across the table and grabbed his book. Snatching it off the table he glared at Arisa. His heart skipped a beat when their eyes met. Why was that, he wondered. It's never done that before. He frowned.

"Nan desu ka?"

"It's nothing," he said. He wanted to sit back down but his body wouldn't move. He was frozen in place, kneeling on the table with one palm on the tabletop and the book in his other hand. He was only inches away from Arisa, who looked up at him in awe and confusion. Was it his imagination, or did she look pretty was she was confused?

"Why are you staring at me?"

Kyo shrugged. "'Cause I've got nothing better to do."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah. You got a better idea?"

In answer to this, Arisa leaned forward, grabbing Kyo's face by cupping it in her hands and pulled him those last few inches until their lips met. She was just as surprised as he was when their lips made contact. She had no idea what had come over her, but the way he was looking at her...that strange yet appealing look in his eyes, made her want to touch him. To be closer to him.

The kiss was tentative at first, their lips caressing each other leisurely and with a bit of hesitation. Neither one wanted to push further for fear of scaring the other. So they parted at the same time, looking at each other with wide eyes.

"So do you get the point now," she asked, panting breathlessly.

"No," Kyo replied in the same breathless voice. "Tell me again."

Their second kiss was much more forceful, like a wild rage had overcome them both. Kyo tossed the book aside before his hands dug into her soft hair. He curled his fingers tightly, tilting her head back a little as his lips opened wide over hers and his tongue licked along her lower lip. He wanted to taste her, wanted more of her. To touch her. Feel her skin against his. GAH! Where were these thoughts coming from?!

She answered him by opening her own lips and releasing her own tongue to duel with his. Her hands rested on his shoulders, allowing her a bit of control. She should've pushed him away, but logical thought had been abandoned after the first kiss. His taste was intoxicating. She suddenly wished that she were already naked so she could take him. Shit! What was she thinking?!

They moaned in unison causing the kiss to end again. They continued to stare at each other as they parted, lips separated and chests heaving for air. Kyo was the first to recover, a smirk coming over his face. He moved to sit on the edge of the table in front of Arisa. She moved back slightly to accommodate his move and smiled in return.

"So what was the point again?"

Arisa stood, her hands resting on either side of his hips as they met face to face once again. "Shut up and kiss me."

She didn't have to tell him twice.
