Want
To Know You
{chapter
7}
*~*When
I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew.*~*
After
math they had a 15 minutes break. Emily walked through the halls as she bumped
into someone. “Oh I’m sorry.” She said.
“It’s
okay.” Said a voice that sounded familiar to Emily. As she looked up she saw
Nick smiling at her. She looked into his eyes and her heart skipped a beat. She
couldn’t look away, they were so wonderful…he just smiled. “Do you want me
to walk you to your next class?” he asked.
“Only
if you want to.” Answered Emily.
“I
want to. So what’s your next lesson?” asked Nick.
“Art…Nick
I have a question…you must have heard it so often but I still want to know
and…” Emily said.
“Just
tell me, okay?” said Nick grinning.
“Okay…well…how
does it feel to be popular?” asked Emily, looking down.
“Oh
man…I think I wouldn’t feel different if I wasn’t popular. Being popular
ain’t a feeling, you know? Why does everybody think it’s so cool to be
popular?” asked Nick.
“I
don’t know…maybe because the popular ones get everything and everyone wants
to be like them. They’re loved and all…” said Emily.
“So…that
means you want to be popular?” asked Nick.
“Uhh…hmm…”
stuttered Emily.
“If
you wan to be popular, then I’ll make you popular. I know how to do that. Just
come with me.” Said Nick, took her hand and went with her to the center of the
school park, where the most people were walking around and talking. He walked
with her to a place in the middle and sat down with her.
“It’s
that easy.” He said.
“Huh?
What are we doing here? I feel silly…” said Emily.
“You’ll
see.” Said Nick and laughed, “now you can answer a question of mine…what
do you like in a guy?” Emily just looked at him. “Oh Emmy, you should know
by now that I say what’s on my mind. And I really want to know!” said Nick,
giving her the puppy dog eyes. Emily laughed.
“Emmy?”
asked Emily. Nick just nodded. “Okay…” Emily said, “what do I like in a
guy? Uhm…he should be funny, nice, he shouldn’t be normal, I mean, I want
him to be interesting for me, then he should be charming…and he shouldn’t
pretend to be someone he’s not…”
“What
about the looks? You can’t tell me that looks are unimportant!” said Nick.
“I
didn’t say that. Well, he should be kind of cute, I think his looks should
match his personality…what about you? What do you like in a girl?” asked
Emily.
“Mmh…she
should be nice, sporty, not bigheaded, nice to look at, confident in her looks,
funny and she should like me for who I am and not because I’m popular…”
said Nick.
“Yeah…I
understand…” said Emily. Then she felt Nick looking at her. She looked up
and met his eyes.
“I
know you feel awkward when I look at you BUT you need to know that I’m not
looking at you because you have something on your nose. I just like to look at
you. I mean, I didn’t saw you close up till we were told to do this music
project together so I have to catch up all the time I couldn’t look at you.”
said Nick smiling. Emily blushed. On that Nick smiled even wider. “Awww…how
cute!” he said.
Then
Emily looked on her watch. It was a minute from her next lesson so she said that
she had to get going. Nick said: “I wanted to walk you to your next class,
remember?” He took her hand and walked to her to the classroom. When she went
in Nick grinned at her and said: “bye Emmy!” then he turned around and
walked to his next class.
When
art was over Emily walked to her locker to see Nick’s friend Marc leaning on
it. “Uhm…hey…what are you doing here?” asked Emily.
“I
waited for you. Nick told me to give to this…” said Marc and handed her a
letter, “he had to go home earlier today because of some stuff with his
band…”
“Oh,
thank you.” said Emily looking at the letter.
“You’re
welcome.” Said Marc, blinked at her and walked away. Just then a few girls
came running to Emily. “Did you just talk to Marc Philton?” they asked.
“Yeah…why
do you ask?” asked Nera, and wondered what they wanted.
“Oh
my god! He’s so hot!” said one of the girls with dark brown hair.
“Are
you new? I’ve never seen you.” said a girl with blonde curly hair.
“Are
you friends with Marc?” asked another girl.
“No,
I’m not. Why do you want to know all that stuff?” asked Emily.
“We’re
curious! The whole school talks about you!” said the blonde.
“Oh!”
said Emily, shocked, “I didn’t know that. Why do they talk about me?” she
asked.
“As
if you don’t know that! Nick Carter, I mean, NICK CARTER has been following
you the whole day! And you were talking and laughing, I mean, that’s like…WOW!”
said the brown haired girl who sounded like she was totally out of breath.
“Uh
huh…” said Emily and smiled at them. Just then the bell rang and Nera had to
go to her next course…history. “I’m sorry, I got to go! Bye!” said
Emily.
“Oh…”
said the girls in unison and looked very sad.
As
Emily walked away she one of the girls say: “Oh, she’s so cool and pretty. I
want to be just like her!”
Emily
couldn’t believe, she always wanted to be popular and now she was. And
didn’t do anything. The only one who did something was Nick. He talked to her.
That’s all he had to do to make her popular. It was unbelievable.
