Want To Know You

{Chapter One}

Disclaimer: Yeah, of course I know the Backstreet Boys! What? You don’t? Well, I’m best friends with them. I even live in Nick Carter’s house! Yah I do! Huh? How come you don’t believe me? (If you didn’t notice the sarcasm you need help. Seriously!)

Of course he was popular and of course she was not but that wouldn’t stop love. That was one thing Emily was sure of. She only knew Nick by sight and by stories that were told about him, but god, he was so cute. And so hot. She didn’t love him. It was more like having a crush on him. She couldn’t already love him. She had talked to him only once, when he asked her what time it was. She had been so happy that he asked her but later she realized that it meant nothing. It’s not that he was mean to her or something like that. He just didn’t notice her. He was always with his popular friends. Some people gossiped about him being in a band which was very successful in Europe. Emily didn’t know if she should believe or not. After all he was only 17. That made him a year older than her.

Emily’s thoughts were disturbed by her cat Messy jumping on her desk. “Meeow!” she said. “Yeah, I’ll give you some food!” said Emily while petting Messy on the head.

After feeding her gutsy cat, Emily started to do her homework. When she finished it, she decided she was in the mood for some sport. She picked up her basketball and went to the park.

While Emily played Nick walked back home from school through the park. He saw someone playing basketball. When he went nearer so he could see the person who was playing he notices that it was…A GIRL! He had seen her many times at school. She was kind of cute but seemed very shy. She seemed to him like she never said something. That made her not fitting into the list of girls he normally flirted with because if he didn’t know anything about her he couldn’t flirt with her. Not that you get the wrong picture here! Nick loved flirting but he wasn’t a player though many people thought he was one. In his past relationships he had always been the one who was played.

He stood there about 10 minutes, watched the girl with the half of his attention and thought with the other half. A little kid saying: “Mommy, I’m hungry!” made him think of home and that he had to get home or else his mom would worry. So he made his way home.

With the back of her hand Emily wiped away the sweat. Playing basketball made her happy. It freed her mind of all worries and problems. She played for one more hour. Then she decided to go home. She felt good. On her way home she thought about school. Her first course the next day was music. Nick was in the same course. She couldn’t wait to see him although she wouldn’t talk to him anyway. It was just that every time she saw him, she was happy.

*~* I get the best feeling in the world when you say hi, or even smile. Because I know, even if it’s just for a second…I crossed your mind.*~*
