I Need you
CHAPTER 1
*~*It's hard to pretend you love someone when you really don't but it's even
harder to pretend you don't love someone when you really do.*~*
After breakfast Nera went back to her hotel room with Nick following her. She
sat down on her bed. Nick kneeled in front of her, looking up in her eyes and
said: „Tell me what’s wrong.“
It was hard for Nera to look him straight in his wonderful eyes...and to top all
lie to him.
„Nick I already told you that nothing’s wrong. Believe me, Id tell you if
something was wrong.“ She said.
„It’s just that you look as if you cried the whole night.“ He said looking
at her with a sad expression on his face.
„I didn’t. God I’m tired.“ She said.
„That’s okay. Get some sleep. You want me to stay with you?“ Nick asked.
„You don’t have to stay. It’s okay. I know how to sleep.“ She said
smiling.
„Okay.“ He said, kissed her temple, walked out of the room and closed the
door quietly.
As he left Nera said quietly to herself: „Should I smile because he's my best
friend, or cry because that's all he'll ever be?“ then she sighed and said:
„I can tell you anything so why can't I tell you that you are everything to
me?“
She lay there for about 2 hours and couldn’t sleep. All she could do was think
of Nick and ask herself why she fell in love with him. Oh there was his smile,
his shining eyes, the way he talked to her, the way he cared for her...it was
just...him.
Suddenly AJ came into the room and asked: „Have you seen N-“ he stopped when
he saw Nera’s sad looking face.
„Hey! What’s up with that face?“ he asked.
Nera smiled a little bit and said: „Nothing.“
„How come I don’t believe you?“ he asked, raising one eyebrow.
„The reason for that could be that I’m lying.“ Nera said as her eyes
started to water.
AJ sat next to her and hugged her. As he let her go he said: „Tell me why
you’re crying...“
„I’ll tell you if you promise you won’t tell anyone!“ she said.
„I promise!“ he said.
„Ok. It’s not easy for me to say that. Uhm. I don’t know how or when it
happened. It just did.“ She started.
„What happened?“ AJ asked, confused.
„I fell in love with...“ she took a deep breath „...Nick.“
„Oh! That’s so cute! Why are you crying? Love is wonderful!“ AJ said.
„AJ, you don’t understand. Nick doesn’t love me that way. He thinks of me
as a little sister.“ Nera said.
„Oh damn. I didn’t think of that. The saddest thing that can happen between
friends is that one falls while the other wants nothing more than friendship.“
He said, looking said, too.
„Yeah. You’re right. And what’s even worse is that I seem to can’t stop
thinking about him. That’s what makes me cry.“ She said.
„Oh c’mere baby. Maybe he is in love with you and just doesn’t show it. Or
maybe he’s in love with you and doesn’t know it. Oh that rymed!“ AJ said
and Nera chuckled.
„Are you sure? I mean about the love thing.“ She asked.
„The only thing I am sure of is that I'm not sure of anything at all.“ Nera
laughed at his silly answer but he continued: „It’s possible, don’t ya
think?“ he asked.
„I hope so.“ she sighed.
