25 years of Deluxe amps

The oldest amp of my collection, this '52 Deluxe is one of my favorite too. While less powerful than its sons and grand sons and with much less headroom, its tone is breathtaking. I think this comes from a similar matter than for guitars: made only with Californian massive plank of pine, it is very light. Particle boards, responsible for weight and tone absorption, are  totally absent. Put a real Alnico speaker is this resonant box and, no matter the amp, you will end with a good tone. And the amp is a simple , under-engineered 6V6 tube amp with lots of astute ideas and no real sucking-sound tone control.
What else but a winner this amp could be?

Here we are, 25 years later, with 2 nice examples of the forgotten pull-boost Deluxe Reverb. What is very strange about this amp is its incredible power. Even the boost off, you hardly can go past 2 without blowing the speaker. Its sound is very impressive, while different from the usual Deluxe sound. Fit him with some 100w JBL and you're shoe-in for best amp of the gig prize. In other words, buy them.
