| I acquired my first show dog in 1990 from a reputable cocker spaniel breeder in Milwaukee Wisconsin. For the next five years I showed cocker spaniels and though I enjoyed the breed and titled five of my own cocker spaniels, I soon became tired of the never ending maintenance that the cocker spaniel coat required. I began researching other breeds and soon it became clear the whippet was for me. I acquired my fist two whippets in 1995 and 1996. Shasta Mountain Flower from Eugene and Rochelle Allwine of Shasta Whippets and Ch Leyenda's Majestic Star from Heidi Powell of Leyenda Whippets. From the mating of these two wonderful dogs, my first hombred champion was produced, Ch Fanfare's Fantasia. All the Fanfare whippets are owner handled to their titles for no other reason than I simply love to show my own dogs. My goal is to produce consistent litters that conform as close as possible to the standard and retain the elegance, temperament, and beauty the whippet is known for. Each litter is carefully planned to hopefully exceed the quality of what has come before. My goal is to better the breed and perhaps one day produce the perfect whippet...... |
