Before we could comprehend what had really happened a second plane hit tower two of the World Trade Center. Our thoughts turned from accident to intentional acts. Our disbelief turned to grief.

Still reeling from the knowledge that unknown enemies had used commercial planes as flying bombs to attack the World Trade Center we hear the Pentagon has been attacked by still another plane.

Now we feel vulnerable - like never before . Our disbelief and grief gives birth to fear and a growing anger. Yet the horror is not yet over...
Next comes the news that another hijacked plane has crashed into the ground in a field in Pennsylvania. Later we will learn that aboard that plane are brave and selfless heroes that stopped the plane from arriving at its planned destination.... We can only speculate that that location was the White House

Victims still trying to escape the building, with firemen and policemen on the scene trying to help and rescue those in need the unthinkable happens The towers begin to fall Before night comes the two towers of the World Trade Center are reduced to rubble. Killing thousands of innocent victims.
Life as we knew it is over. The emblem of our financial power has been reduced to rubble. The symbol of our military power is wounded Our nation's capital has escaped diaster - due to courageous citzens - our fallen heroes. Now we wonder what lies ahead.
We put aside our petty grievances and stand tall, shoulder to shoulder as a nation.
Our faceless enemy can kill our innocent and fall our buildings but they can not and will not defete our spirit or our national strength. We will fight this war they have initiated and will come out victorious, punishing the evil enemies that have wounded the soul of our nation, but strengthened our national bond.

| In the words of Leonard Pitts Jr.:
"Did you want us to respect your cause? You just damned your cause. Did you want to make us fear? You just steeled our resolve. Did you want to tear us apart? You just brought us together." |
We are the United States of America, one nation under God indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

May God Bless and Keep all the departed souls Give their families strength to carry on. Let us never forget this tragic day. Remember the bond the nation felt that day and Not let it be broken by the passing of time
If as a nation we bonded together always as we did that day What a power and glowing example we would be for the world
