| Betta Breeding 101 | ||||||||
| I use four - 2 gallon tanks as breeders. In them I put a small sponge filter, Java Moss and float Salvinia Natans/Giant Duckweed on top. I add several Ramshorn snails and a Styrofoam coffey cup cut in half lengthwise to help hold the Bubble nest in place. I fill the tanks with about 5" of water during mating, then keep adding water as I clean and the fry grow. |

| Female is removed after mating, males stays for four days to tend the fry. All those white dots are the eggs sticking to the bubble nest. | ||||||||
| Then comes the Squeeze, which is repeated about 60 times in a 2 to 6 hour session. The Betta's love this styro cup. | ||||||||
