WILDEST DREAMS FACT SHEETS

When Tina's new album, "Wildest Dreams" is released on 1st April 1996, it will be her first studio album in six years. Her previous studio album was the multi-platinum album "Foreign Affair", following "Foreign Affair" was the greatest hits package, "Simply the Best" and following release of that was the soundtrack to Tina's biographical movie, "What's Love Got to Do With It". So far seventeen tracks have been recorded for the "Wildest Dreams" album. The entire album has been recorded in England. Recording commenced in August 1995, and the album will be finally mixed on 16th February,1996.

Tina feels this is the best album she has ever made and she is incredibly excited about performing these tracks on stage on her forthcoming tour. Tina has been a long time fan of producer,Trevor Horn, and has wanted to work with him for the last six years, in particular she is a great admirer of his work on the Seal albums, as she is also a big fan of Seal. Finally, Trevor's schedule opened up to start working with Tina last year. Initially, Trevor was going to produce four tracks on the album.

After the recording of the first four tracks was completed, Tina was so excited she asked him to produce several more tracks and ended up with another six tracks. So, in total Trevor Horn has produced ten songs on the album. Tina has also worked with one of her favorite bands, the Pet Shop Boys, who have written and produced a track called "Confidential" for this album. She has also reunited with her long time Grammy winner Producer/ Songwriter, Terry Britten.

Terry, who has previously written and produced such Tina hits as "What's Love Got to Do With It", "What You Get is What You See", "We Don't Need Another Hero" and "Typical Male" has co-written and produced two tracks on the new album.

Here is a breakdown of some of the tracks on the album:

Track 1: "Whatever You Want"

This song will be the first single released from the album. The song was written by legendary New York producer, Arthur Baker. Tina and her manager, Roger Davies, have had this song for about four years waiting for the right time to record it. They played the song to Trevor Horn who liked it immensely and he produced this massive track which features probably one of the best vocal performances by Tina in her career. The song could be compared to a 90's version of "River Deep Mountain High" with its wall of sound and soaring vocal.

Track 2: "In Your Wildest Dreams"

This song was written by long time Tina collaborators, Holly Knight and Mike Chapman, who have been responsible for writing several big hits for Tina including "The Best" and "Better Be Good To Me". Tina is a close friend of Holly Knight who has written over eight songs for Tina on past records. Tina personally asked her to write something with a strong sexy groove to it. The mystery, sexy male voice heard on the track is that of well known actor, Antonio Banderas. Antonio is a big fan of Tina's and was thrilled to be asked to perform on this track, and Tina, who is a great admirer of his work, was excited at the end result. The track was produced by Trevor Horn.

Track 3: "On Silent Wings"

This song was written again by one of Tina's favorite songwriters, Tony Joe White, who is responsible for having written many of he great tracks including "Steamy Windows", "Undercover Agent for the Blues" and "Foreign Affair". It was also co-written with Tina's long time guitar player, James Ralston. This song has a beautiful melody and very personal lyrics, and is one of Tina's favorite songs that she's ever recorded. The song also features a cameo vocal performance at the end by Sting who is one of Tina's favorite all-time artists. She is really excited that Sting has contributed to her album.

Track 4: "Thief of Hearts"

This track was written by a German duo called "Tab Two" who are signed to Virgin Records in Germany. Tina had heard their songs while she'd been living in Zurich and asked the group whether they would come up with a great groove for her. The group who are big fans of Tina's were very excited to do this and came up with a fantastic song called "Thief of Hearts" and then English lyrics were written for this song by two American songwriters, Alan Rich and Jay Friedman. Tina can't wait to perform this song live on stage as she likes the naughty aspect of the lyrics. This song was produced by Trevor Horn.

Track 5: "Do What You Do"

This track was written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle who have had a long successful history with Tina. When she first heard the demo she loved it and wanted to record it. Terry Britten produced the track and it has a great Stevie Wonder type feel to it with Terry playing a fantastic guitar solo with Beatlesque harmonies at the end. This is another track Tina can't wait to perform live on stage.

Track 6: "Something Beautiful Remains"

This beautiful ballad was again written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle and produced by Terry Britten. It features a fantastic vocal by Tina in a slightly different style to anything she's previously recorded.

Track 7: "Missing You"

In 1983 when Tina was doing promotion and television shows around Europe to promote her comeback single, "Lets Stay Together". She performed on these shows with John Waite, who had his first solo single out at the time called "Missing You". The song became a big hit and it became one of Tina's all time favorite songs. She continually kept talking about the song and playing the song over the last 10 years and decided it was time for her to give her own interpretation of this classic song. This was produced by Trevor Horn and the strings were arranged by Ann Dudley and features an incredibly powerful vocal by Tina.

Track 8: "Confidential"

This song was written by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe of the Pet Shop Boys. Tina's been a big fan of the Pet Shop Boys for many years, and about four years ago she asked the boys to write a song for her. They came up with this song which she has always loved but she didn't feel it was appropriate to be included on the soundtrack of the movie of he life, "What's Love Got to Do With If'. She kept hold of the track and finally when it came time to do this new studio album she asked Neil and Chris if they would produce the track for her which they happily agreed to do. The track was recorded in London late last year and features Neil Tennant on background vocals. The track was also co-produced by Chris Porter who previously was well known for his long-standing work with George Michael and is currently co-producing the Pet Shop Boys new album. Again, this is one of Tina's favorite songs on the album as it has an incredibly strong melody.

Track 9: "All Kinds of People"

This song was written by Sheryl Crow. Tina is a big fan of Sheryl's and asked her if she had any songs that may be suitable for he new album. Sheryl submitted this song which has previously been unreleased and Tina was very excited about performing it. It's a great uptempo track.

Track 10: "Dancing in My Dreams"

This song was written by American Songster, Brenda Russell and is a different style of song for Tina, has a very haunting, eerie feel to it. It also features strong orchestration by Ann Dudley and the Durham Cathedral Organ and Choir. This track again was produced by Trevor Horn.

Track 11: "The Difference Between Us"

This song was written by a Belgium duo call CNA, along with an English Songwriter Nicky Holland. Again, this is a song that Roger Davies, her manager found about three years ago and had put on hold until it was time for the new album to come about. This track was also produced by Trevor Horn.

Track 12: "Goldeneye"

This song was written by Bono and The Edge from U2. As Tina spends most of her time in her house in the South of France, she became friends with her neighbors, Bono and The Edge, who have a house about a mile from her place. She was invited to a party at their house and whilst there she asked Bono very directly to write her a song for her new album. When Bono heard that the producers of the James Bond movie "Goldeneye" had asked Tina to perform the title track, Bono immediately felt that he had to write this song, as he had his honeymoon many years ago at the Goldeneye Estate in Jamaica where Ian Fleming used to live.

The song was written in the South of France and Bono and The Edge worked on the arrangement with Tina at her house around her piano. The song was then recorded at Olympic Studios in London and produced by Nellee Hooper (well known producer of Massive Attack, Bjork, U2 and Madonna). The song features a great string arrangement arranged by Craig Armstrong who also did the strings on the U2 Batman hit, "Thrill Me, Kiss Me". The song has become a huge hit through England and Europe and the movie has become the biggest grossing James Bond movie of all time. Tina was very happy to be associated with this movie.
