The Anime Review by Moggy
Super Atragon is not a piece thats widly known in the US. Throw out a name like Battleship Yammoto and people are more likely to have heard, or even seen it. This anime is in a similar genre, except based in the water. There's a gigantic sub/battleship that pretty much handles everything thrown its way. And thats about all Super Atragon has to offer. The animation is of a standard, what I've dubbed "serious anime", style. Of course there's a romance, but it's a half hearted attempt and does not add anything to the story. The characters are flat and you never really warm up to becoming involved in thier plight. The technology is interesting, especially the rings, but those are a gimmick that seems like a prop for everything else that is lackluster. Rent this one if you can, or buy it cheap. Really cheap. 3 of 10
