-The Character's name "Lucciola" is Italian for "firefly"; "Lavie" is French for "(the) life"; "Hamilcar Barca" (a possible alternate transliteration of BARUKA) was the Carthaginian leader during the Second Punic War (3rd century BC) - he was the father of the famous Carthaginian general Hannibal.
