THE PURPOSE OF THIS HOME PAGE

As genealogists, I'm sure you all can empathize with what I'm about to write here.

Back in the day - let's say 100 years ago - when there was one copy of a picture, and one handwritten copy of a family history or family bible, it usually went to the child who showed the most interest. There was no copy machine or email or computer scanners to make sure everybody in the family group could have an equal share of these valuable heirlooms.

If you clicked into this homepage, you are probably part of a huge, intermingled group of people who descend from the Covenanters. Many of us claim descendency from the same family groups two or three times because of their habit of marrying second and third cousins. They all lived in a relative colony in each place they moved to.

So, the goal of this site is to simplify the communication. Instead of us having to go to several places to find this information and find each other, I put alot of the pertinent info on this site, or at least linked to it. I'm hoping that this might become a meeting place and a library of information for the future. I'm hoping that you will see the descendency charts, scour them, and point out common errors you know about. If you have written histories, submit them to this site and I will post them pronto and give an email out to interested parties that there is something new and important to look at.

Please send Gedcoms on the families that I'm not as familiar with. My line includes the Mortons, Parkinsons, McLaughlins and Blairs, so the other lines are not my strengths, but I formed some basic family charts to get them started. If you send me your GedComs, I can combine them with my file and I'll repost it. Also, send pictures, census info, obscure articles and land information to this site, and we'll make this one heck of a source for Covenanter descendents.
