THE 1790 CENSUS......COVENANTERS

Keep in mind that many of these Chester County individuals are the same person, but I didn't whittle it down because I wanted to leave interpretations up to the individual. As you will also notice, many of the names were butchered, either in the transcription or the actual visit to the household 200 years ago. I did a soundex search and was shocked to see how they spelled Blair, Gillespie and many other names. In this 1790 censu, the first number after "Chester County" is the page number it is on in the census. The numbers following the page number represent the following: The first two represent how many free white males were 16 yrs old or older in the house. The second number is males under 16, the third number is white females, and teh fourth number before "SC" is other free persons and the fifth is slaves.
