| More and more schools are using teachers' aides and other paraprofessionals to assist with instruction in and out of the classroom. They are an integral part of our educational system. Imagine how much more effective these | |||||||||||||||||
| important people could be if they were given not only specific strategies but a well-thought-out tutoring model? They could make each minute of their time with individual students or small groups count for more. Training a group from your district is likely to have a major impact on children's achievment! | |||||||||||||||||
| After attending the Successful Tutoring Strategies workshop, participants will: | |||||||||||||||||
| Understand an interactive model which they can use as they work with individual students or small groups. Have a personal workbox of materials to help children with basic skills, using the suggested tutoring model. Be able to use specific strategies to encourage and help beginning readers. Know how to help children gain confidence in reading, writing, and spelling. |

| Participants will receive: A tutor's workbox: a specially-designed box of language manipulatives that tutors can use as they work with students A tutor's manual that provides a clear and effective tutoring model which complements the materials provided in the tutor's workbox Cost of workshop: $2899 for 25 participants; only $60 extra for each additional participant, max. 50. (Cost includes materials,workshop fee, and presenter's travel.) |
