Callins Family Poem
August 2005

Our family is given to you at birth
With your lips and nose and eyes
The size of our girth
The thick of our thighs
The curl in our hair
People say "Those are Callins Kin there!"
Our family is made of fathers
Mothers
Sisters
And Brothers
Don't forget your cousins are in it
Many by blood
More by spirit
Our family endured over the years
Suffering pains and celebrating joys that brought us to tears
Our family had been broken apart
Only in the physical sense, but not in the heart
Here we are today
We are all family
Its in our genes
Its in our souls
And very beings
This is the blessing from the trials of our past
We are here today,
togehter,
as family at last.
