Autumn Serenity

My my - how time does fly.  It's been about 2 weeks since my last entry.  Nothing special has been happening except life.   The past few weeks have been gratefully mundane.  We've wrapped up volleyball and football and are enjoying being home nights.  And the timing couldn't have been better as Michael wrapped up a huge side job and will be home as well.  Yippee!  He has one big job left, but that should be done in a matter of a weekend or so.  He's bringing in the big guns to help with this one - Mike and Matt.

However, one really great thing happened two Saturday's ago.  When we arrived at Nick's last football game lo' and behold, my mom was there!  She had sent out an email earlier that week saying she and Joe were heading out for a week excursion so they surprised us and swung by for the game.  It was wonderful!  But unfortunately, not long enough. They were on their way to visit a friend in the Bayfield area, unbeknownest to them that AppleFest was going on.  We warned them of the chaos so I hope all went well.  Thanks Mom and Joe - that was a great ending to the season.  We love you very much!

Anyhow - is everyone ready for Halloween?  Honestly, I think this is one of our favorite holidays.  The kids and I love to do the whole pumpkin farm thing, decorate the yard with ghosts, monsters and witches (besides me) and relish in the whole "harvest" feel.  We spent this weekend planting last minute perennials, winterizing the yard, and football!  Could life get any better?  Taylor and Nick are deciding on their costumes for the year.  Taylor is leaning towards an evil princess and it's Davey Crockett for Nick.  Now to find the necessary "stuff".

Oops!  Before I go any further, I have to wish a very special boy Happy Birthday.  Happy 1st Birthday Mikey! We love you and we'll see you Saturday!!!

I've put more pictures on the web, but you know, it's funny - I've been having a blast with my new camera, but now that I have it, I haven't been taking the time to upload them.  Sorry.  I'll do better, I promise.

So that's basically it in a nutshell.  Hope all is well with our extended family, and we'll be in touch
Happy Fall Y'all!
