CARE PACKAGES FOR SOLDIERS
Many groups are creating Care Packages to send to our soldiers overseas. With the holidays coming up, our soldiers need to know that we care and support them more than ever. This letter describes the need for this
: "This best belongs in "Operation Forgotten Soldier". The CO describes the situation this way: "This is not an ordinary unit. But due to that, our guys are a little more cut off from reality, and thus need outside mail even more." He is requesting any letters, or any care packages for the soldiers. There are about a 100 soldiers, all male. Mail letters or packages (packages should be intended for individuals) to the address below. The soldier there will distribute them to any of the guys who are in need. For care packages, anything (books, magazines, CDs, DVDs) will be welcome. Specific suggestions given were: any magazines for guys, any type of toiletries, any type of hard candy, any packaged food that won't spoil or melt (please no chocolate) and BEEF JERKY. [Address has changed, as the soldiers have been moved. Will supply as soon as it becomes available again] Also, It is actually getting cold in Iraq, at least their part of it (imagine that). It's 105 daytime to mid/low 60s at night. The temperature differential is stressful and they need to stay warm. He is requesting hand warmers, the kind with chemicals that react to /from heat.
