| "If we go, what can we give the man? The food in our sacks is gone. We have no gift to take to the man of God."(1 Samuel 9:7) "I have nothing to put inside the offering basket,"I used to murmur inside my heart. Sometimes, all I gave was a one peso coin. Yet after Mass, I stuff myself with burgers and fries, buy anything in the mall and watch the latest movie. It may be difficult to give to Christ's cause. Yet it is easy to spend for trivial things. Come to think of it, who gave you your money? Who gave you your job? Do you think you would have that job if God did not bless you? You may say, "C'mon brother, I have the ability to raise money for myself!" Yes, but who gave you that ability? Don't all these come from God? Yet we are quick to ask Him for a bigger allowance, a huge salary increase, a big house, a nice car and lots of money! We want Him to be generous to us but we have not been generous to Him "Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously" (2 Corinthians 9:6). My friend, do you want the Lord to bless you generously? Start sowing generously today! Lord, sorry for the times I struggled to give generously to You. Give me the grace to be able to give lavishly. Amen. |
