Mrs. Spencer's sixth grade writing class has learned numerous skills from our enthusiastic teacher. We have learned with consistent methods created by Ms. Spencer herself. While having a great time in class, our knowledge has expanded to create a new generation of writers.
Our class is diffrent from many other sixth grade classes. First, we are in middle school at our school, Vista Verde. Second, our teacher incorperates technology into our class. This web site is an example. We have a wonderfully unique class.
Something that makes our class special is our Challenge Group. A few students join Challenge Group for a couple of weeks or more to enjoy exciting extracurricular activities. In Challenge Group we incorporate social studies into our lessons. For example, when we were studying Mesopotamia, we read the Gilgamesh epics and carved Mesopotamian statues. Also, Challenge Group members help the regular class by providing support to activities, lecturing on assigned projects, and designing learning games or PowerPoint projects.
Our class is very lucky. We have a great teacher, do awesome projects, and learn intriguing facts. Ms. Spencer runs an exciting class. |
