Jade and Amber

A collection of poetry...here for reasons
I am uncertain of. The ravings of the mad.

Revelations of Truth and Glory

The men in wait of sending
Last feel the chill of breath
To know their souls will soon be blest
That their bodies laid to rest
In hopes of passing the great gate's keeper
So then comes the paled reaper
Of those lives in lending
To carry them to death.

Heard on winds of passing omen
Felt on wings of fleeting sin
To repent their long lost bitter hates,
They await their final, ill-bred fates.
The same of all those cursed to live,
'Tis only fit they be doomed to die
And so to greater wisdom give
That happiness be but a lie.

For of all man and beast beside,
It is but the coming turn
For no matter one man's dignity,
Mortality shall surely strip his pride
And such that their lives adjourn
Nature shall feel nay remorse nor pity
Yet as beating heart can still survive
The rain of judgement shan't yet arrive.

None but of those undying
Can resist the ebb of destiny's call
For those brought into this life
Must one day take the eventual fall
Yet those unborn have yet to tell
How to preserve the mortal shell,
So is truth in the world found with so much strife,
Do gods toy, or our resilience are they trying?

The will of man is nay strong enough
To hold fast and end fear to our greatest foe
So it is more than the normal man may know
As so few are made with stronger stuff.
The morning harbours more than it seems
For the conscious mind of sole few may
See truth as one must do in dreams
For death hath forever brought in the day.

Lament to the Loving Unwise...

I have not the temper nor the tact
Acting on no single fact
Fearing searing crushing blows
To any weakness, aegis lacked.

Nay the naught but ought display,
Of affection blocking anyway,
To a truth, on iron wings,
To never fly away.

The dawning's sun marks maybe hope
As dreams to day construct a rope
Waking to more fantasy
Yet with truths untold I further cope.

Lost is jade to amber reason,
Innocence the greatest treason-
Cynics fight for eunuch right,
Declaring love a hopeless season.

Yet on I struggle yet unknown
To last to past of flesh to bone
Through death yet still a burden carried
Wherein breath of life is so long flown?

Soul and sold to hate-bound fate,
Once of love yet then so late
Turned against by cold velvet eye,
For my love hath yet to sate.

A Drakespearian Sonnet

As I watch your flying tonight, this night
Thy serene floating reveals thy splendor
And while soaring in this, a night, twilight,
I wonder- Who is it your creator?

Coasting in moonlight, wings support body,
With breath, a bright that breaches darkened gloom
Intelligent, yet proud, wise, but haughty,
And foes, on sight, realize their coming doom.

You have been revered, evil and holy
Given power so great it tempts the gods
But beware of hubris, thy sole folly,
As a dragon, slashing claws, metal shod.

Your glory in flight, I now understand!
Guardians of water, the wind, the land.

A Phoenician Sonnet

Immortal, by fiery resurrection!
Only through ash does the phoenix touch death
For nature's laws suffer insurrection
When the phoenix rebirths to take first breath.

In scarlet plumage with a crown of flame
The firebird summons the undying day
And then the shadow shall be truly bane
When has touched the planet the sun's first ray.

When the raven winged veils o'er land are flown
The earth is reborn in the searing light,
As the burning orb's beams through gloom have shone
The phoenix rebels the lingering night.

Chasing the sunset, embracing the flames
Where the dark fades away, the fire-lord reigns.

Alzheimer's Funtime

Devestation to the mind
No consciousness within can find
Life before and now no meaning
Yet before and now not seeming
Anything to sightless eyes
Seeing but cannot recognize
Reminiscence, deja vu,
Yet everything each day anew.
Boundless are the words shaped from the fog of thought...
