This MIGHT be a fan art. I'm not sure. But if it is, it's so freaking good I don't care.

Another great Anime
Sanosuke, Yahiko, Kenshin and Kaoru. Cover of a manga
Rurouni Kenshin (which means Wanderer or Vagabond Kenshin [it's his name])is an anime/manga that takes place in the latter half of 19th century Japan. It was a time of revolution when Imperialists fought against Nationalists who were trying to westernize the government. After the enormous backstabbing and bloodshed that both parties caused, neither had decent claim to 'justice' or 'truth'. Himura Kenshin was an assassin on the side of the Imperialists. He took countless lives, and earned himself the nickname 'Battousai' (sword-wielder) the Manslayer, easily recognizable by his bright red hair and cross shaped scar on his cheek. After a tragic accident, however, he vowed never to kill again. He wandered the countryside trying to aid people who were suffering to make up for what he did. He began using a 'sakabattou', reverse blade sword, so that he wouldn't ever kill while using his sword to protect people. He's an incredibly kind man, but firmly believes in his sense of right and wrong (which seems to be a pretty good sense), so will stand up to protect the innocent and weak. He settles for some time in a village where he meets Kaoru, a young woman who is in charge of a kendo school that holds the ideal of 'The sword is a tool to protect people with' in it's style. He also meets Yahiko, a young boy who was rescued from a gang to learn Kaoru's sword style and Sanosuke, who sometimes wields a gigantic blade but more often fights with his fists. Megumi is a woman who was being forced into creating a powerful form of opium she had discovered, and was rescued by Kenshin and Sanosuke. She became a doctor in the same village as Kenshin, dedicating herself more than ever as a way to repent for creating the opium that would no doubt end up hurting many people, not unlike what Kenshin did in his own vow.  The story revolves mostly around (as do many anime/mangas) Kenshin trying to make up for and bury his past, while dealing with the turmoil of Japan around him.
Plus, he's super-cool.
This isn't.
This is a good picture
Kaoru, glaring at...something. Probably Yahiko, for doing something stupid.
Kenshin looking at....something. Probably Kaoru.
Sanosuke. Don't know what's going on.
Yahiko looking stupid. Holding his bamboo sword, because he always is.
She likes Aoshi a lot. But kind of makes it seem like she likes Kenshin. *tee hee*
Aoshi. He seems cruel but isn't that bad. He cares a lot for Misao, that's where his sensitive side is. He's the leader of the Oniwabanshu.
Misao. She's largely part of the Kyoto story arc, a cool Oniwabanshu ninja.
You don't see Kenshin with his hair down too much.
Kenshin in his hitokiri state. If he gets really emotional about something, his eyes become amber. It's what he fights to resist
all throughout his battles, because if he accidentally kills in this state, he will become once again 'Battousai the Manslayer'.
