| 10th, August 2007 Thanks for sticking with the site, I know it hasn't been updated for a little while but with the impending return trip to Cornwall for the autumn and winter I'll be adding more stuff to the site soon. This is the time for a spot (or lenghty patrol) of seawatching. Rosemullion Head is the top site around Falmouth to spot a rare seabird or two. It lies a couple of miles south of Maenporth and 5+ miles south of Falmouth along the coastal footpath. A little further down the Lizard Peninsula seawatchers have faired well in recent days with 4 Cory's Shearwater, 2 Balearic Shearwater and 1 Sooty Shearwater, 1 Pomarine Skua amongst some more common seabirds. Surely a few of these drift into Falmouth Bay before heading south. Get the waterproofs out though! Local Bird News - Falmouth - 2 Med Gull + 2 Greenshank Swanpool - 1 Med Gull (on beach) |
