life:beautiful but heartless 7" - 625 thrash

The 7" entitled "Life: Beautiful, but Heartless" was released on 625 Productions in the Spring of 2000. There were 1650 pressed and 500 of them were on green vinyl. I think that there are still a few of them available at all of your finer distribution centers.

Although the production on this record isn't as good as the previous recordings, I think that it captures the fury and speed that would have been lost with the super heavy production jobs of the past. Due to the financial difficulties we had during the recording of SuperStructure, we couldn't spend as much money on this recording as we did in the past. We recorded it at a new studio in Sparks called Imirage. We tried a few new tricks with the recording and most of them didn't turn out too good, but hey, we aren't professionals and we all make mistakes. The playing on the 4 songs were some of the best that we have done so far and the lyrics meant more to me than any others had before. I also started trying to use less screaming in my vocals as I did in the past. The vocals sound more human and more pissed on this 7". This is the first album that I have really been proud of and continue to be proud of.

We chose to do this record on 625 Productions because I have always respected Max Ward as a musician and as a human being. He has always been a fan of the band and has always believed in us from the start. The layout turned out really good and it is a very solid album. Vinyl only on this one for all the true soldiers.

When this record was written and released I was having the worst year of my entire life. The girl that I was in love with fell out of love with me and it totally crushed me. Despite being a bad year for me relationship wise, I did a lot of growing up and it has made me a better person. This record shows that Fall Silent can play fast and notes a decided change in the bands sound.
