six years in the desert cd - revelation records The Six Years in the Desert CD is a compilation which includes the Life: Beautiful, but Heartless 7", the Nineteenhundredninetyseven 7" plus "Sunny Days" and the live Seven Seconds cover "Clenched Fists, Black Eyes", and the No Strength to Suffer 12". All of which are long out of print or vinyl only productions. The Life:... 7" was remixed and all of the songs have been remastered by Dave Shirk in Tempe, AZ and they all sound better than ever. It will be available everywhere on June 12, 2001. There will not be any vinyl pressed of this album because: 1. The CD clocks in at over 62 minutes, so it would have to be a double LP, and that is sort of excessive. 2. All of the releases have been pressed on vinyl in the past, so if you missed it the first time then you are out of luck. It pays to have been in to Fall Silent when we were a DIY band. 3. It will make the vinyl that is out there more special to the people that did support us when we were "nothing." Thanks. This album was put out because we cannot afford to keep all of these records in press on our own. We felt that the material is strong, and we have spent a lot of money on the production of the songs that it would be a shame to just let them die and stay out of print. Furthermore, if Fall Silent does gain more noteriety; it will be nice to have this stuff out on a label that can distrubute it properly so bootleggers and e-bayers won't rip-kids off selling it for way too much money. The album will be readily available for a long time cheaply and effectively. The collection is also a reminder of how this band has progressed and how we have changed musically and lyrically. It contains memories of past band members, past tours, recording sessions, shows, and all of the wonderful things we have gone through with this band. I am glad that these songs aren't dying for the band and for those who have been with the band for so long. discography |
