Babysitting Co-Op

Purpose

Provides an opportunity for MOMS Club members to systematically trade babysitting favors, meet other families in the community, and reduce babysitting expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Attend a Babysitting Co-Op Membership Meeting once a year.  Meetings are low-key social gatherings resembling a playgroup.

  • Pay a $2 membership fee to cover mailing costs

  • Read Babysitting Co-Op Rules and Procedures.

How it Works

Upon joining the Babysitting Co-Op, a member is credited with 40 babysitting points per child. For example, you have one child, you receive 40 credits; 2 children, receive 80 points; and so on.  Two points covers 60 minutes of care for one child; each additional child requires one babysitting point per hour.

No money ever changes hands--only points!  Care may take place at your home or at the Babysitter's home during the day or evening.

When leaving the group, members are asked to leave with the same number of points as they started.  (I.E., if you've used the service, do enough babysitting so that you bring your point level to its starting level.)

For additional information contact Ari A., coordinator at the next meeting.
