Old~Fashioned Creamy Eggnog
Ingredients:
1/2 cup powdered sugar                                             Toppings:
4 eggs                                                                       Rum
1/4 tsp salt                                                                 Sweetened whipped cream
1/2 tsp vanilla                                                             Nutmeg
4 cups whipping cream or milk
Instructions:
In 5 cup blender container combine powered sugar, eggs, salt and vanilla.  Cover; blend at high speed until well blended.

In 2 qt saucepan place 2 cups whipping cream.  Cook over medium heat until thermometer reaches 140 degrees.

While blending at medium speed, slowly add warmed whipping cream to egg mixture.  continue blending until frothy.

In same 2 qt sauce pan, stir together egg mixture and remaining 2 cups of whipping cream.  Cook over medium heat occasionally until thermometer reaches 140 degrees.
Other Hints: If desired, add 1 Tbsp rum to each serving; top with sweeted whipped cream and nutmeg.
