Gem therapy is something I believe in cause I have experienced healing in using gems. I had a cist on my breast so I wore a necklace of Red Jasper for a month. I wore it even to bed and one day as I was washing in the shower to my amazement it was gone.
Now I am working on my cataracts with Tigers Eye on a necklace and at night I lay aventurine on my eyes for the night with a bandana to hold it in place a couple nights a week. Gems are living things that have healing qualities.
Cleaning and energizing your gemstones is important also take care of them and they will take care of you!!!
Caution:
There are some important things to remember when cleaning and charging gemstones
- A Gemstone that is naturally porous and soft do not clean with water, salt water, for they are porous and can be damaged by it.
- Here are some that are: Calcite, Turquoise, Azurite, Rhodochrosite, Fluorite, Opal, Lapis to name a few! If they have been tumbled or cut you may use water.
- Next Sun damages some too so use moonlight for the following:
- Aventurine
- Amethyst
- Apatite
- Beryl
- Celestite
- Citrine
- Fluorite
- Rose Quartz
- Smokey Quartz
- Kunzite
- Sapphire
There are probably more, but I am still learning myself. I have a water fountain that I use for cleaning these and than I use my sound therapy machine to charge them. The soothing sound of the ocean, rain, lighting, waterfall, stream, ect. can be used to charge the gemstones.
Cleaning Methods:
- Water: Use spring of purified, tap has a lot of chemicals if you live in the city so I recommend not using it!
- SaltWater: 2 cups spring water 1 cup Sea Salt soak than dry in the sunlight or moonlight.
- Rain: Put in a bowl and allow the Rain to clean them.
- Smudge with Sage: My favorite, pass stones through smoke 4 times on one side than 4 on the other.
- Sage Tea: Pour cooled tea over gems in a glass bowl over night than rinse in the morning with pure spring or purified water.
- Crystal Method: If you have a large piece of Quartz an Amethyst or geode that you can use for this purpose only that would be great just set on and let it clean and charge it. Plus I would use the Sage method with it first.
- Sand: Bury in moist sand, but remeber that polish is often removed with this process.
- Soil or Earth: Place in a piece of cotten cloth and bury in the ground for several days and make sure to mark where you buried it.
