Ever After

If only you could envision yourself
Through the eyes of Beauty,
Aroused from slumber...
An awakening kiss so longed for.
A Prince, adorned in glitter and gold;
Red velvet, whispering lips,
Expressions flowing
From a honeyed tongue;
Sweet the taste;
Warm the voice,
Removing all lingering chills
From the air,
Placing them gently
Upon silken skin
Begging to be touched.
A hero, shield of intelligence;
The mighty word, a sharpened sword;
Arrogantly so, charm serving as chivalry.
A feast of prose
Eagerly fed to the attentive soul;
Plate full, yet hungering for more.
Intoxicating as wine
Aged to extraordinary flavor.
To dream a thousand dreams,
What damsel wouldn't sleep for eternity
Just to be so near
Perfection, if possibly so beyond the myth
Of a fairy tale?
Inside the heart of a woman,
The little girl belief
In wishes of ever after
Softly breathes on.
