A fic dedicated to the Sehshi of Time and space.


The moon kingdom is under attack, Queen Serenity runs into her throne 
room to talk to a girl in a black dress.
"Setsuna! Quickly! Get into the portal!"
"But..."
"There's no time! They're coming! I need you to escape while you can!"
"But what about Sere and the others?"
"The others are dead! And as for Serenity, I wish I could send her with 
you, but she refuses to leave her prince."
"I won't leave...I can't..."
"You have to! If all else fails, I need you to make sure that the 
others will be reborn!"
A scream echoes throughout the palace.
"Serenity!" The Queen screams then turns to Setsuna. "Please go!"
Tears run freely down the young girl's face as she holds out her 
transformation pen.
"Pluto Planet Power Make-Up!"
After she transforms she rushes into the portal, but not before hearing 
Luna burst into the room.
"Queen Serenity! It's the Princess!"

The Senshi of time appears in a land of total darkness. 
"I've got to make sure that everything's all right!"
She rushes to the window, the one link to the outside world. 
The Moon kingdom is in ruins, countless millennia of culture and peace, 
destroyed in a matter of weeks.
And there, lying against a broken white marble pillar, lies the body of 
Queen Serenity.
"NO!" The scream resounds throughout the dark mist. "Show me the 
others!"
Several bodies are shown floating to the earth, slowly fading until 
only a faint glow is left.
"I see, so she sent them to earth after all." 
The grip on the staff tightens and determination sets into her face.
"I can fix this! I can go back in time and warn them! It doesn't have 
to be this way!"
Pluto holds her staff up before crumpling to the ground crying.

A figure watches from her place in the darkness that was the gates of 
time.
She continues to watch the same scene over and over again.
(Quickly go!)
"I shouldn't have listened." Pluto says out loud. "I should have 
stayed! Maybe I could have made a difference!"
"It wouldn't have done any good." 
Pluto turns around to see a pale silhouette almost unrecognizable.
Almost.
"I'm sorry." Pluto whispers. "I should have done more."
"What more could have been done?" Queen Serenity asks.
The green haired senshi looks at the image of Endymion floating back to 
Earth.
"I hate him." She says simply. "If Sere never met him, then this never 
would have happened..."
 "All things must end. Even the Silver Millennium." 
"But..."
"Even you can't deny that. Goodness, you're acting just like your 
father." 
"I know, but it's easier to blame him." 
"Shifting the blame is always easier then admitting the truth." Serenity says, ruffling Setsuna's hair. "Although I do believe that 
you've paid him back. After all you did convince him to send those 
horrible dreams to his younger self."
Pluto scoffs. "I was hoping that she would see him for a scoundrel. 
Instead of following him around and making him realize how foolish it 
was to follow a dream. It backfired on me. Instead of a scoundrel..."
"She saw a man who loved her enough to sacrifice his own shot at 
happiness just to keep her safe."
Pluto cringes at the memory of Serena begging and pleading for him to 
take her back. "Maybe if I send Seiya ahead a bit..."
"Don't you dare! You of all people should know the dangers of messing 
with the timeline!"
"I could fix it! Besides, how could HE," Setsuna points to the image of 
Mamoru. "be Sere's soulmate! They have nothing in common!"
"They're like two magnets, opposites attract and all that stuff. Need I 
remind you of your last crush?"
"Please don't, the last thing I need is to be reminded of that bag of 
hot air! I don't know what I was thinking!" Setsuna looks through the 
portal again and sighs. "Sometimes I wish I could have died that night, 
then I would have been able to be reborn with them."
"Don't you dare say that!" Serenity reprimands. "At least you 
survived."
"To do what? Guard the gates of time for all eternity? To never have a 
life of my own anymore?" Setsuna starts to sob silently.
Queen Serenity holds her softly and comforts her.
"You've kept them all safe." She says showing her another time portal. 
"Now look what you're hard work and sacrifice have wrought."
Setsuna looks though to see Crystal Tokyo. The fight with the Death 
Phantom has ended and the city is rebuilt to its previous glory. A 
small girl with pink hair is running through a garden, joy shining on 
her features. 
"Chibi-Usa!"
She turns around and runs into the arms of her mother, Neo-Queen 
Serenity.
"They have a lasting peace now. And...it's time for you to join them."
Setsuna looks up. "What? But what about..."
"Don't worry about the gates of time, they'll do fine without you. After all, you haven't been here forever, it probably just seems like 
it."
The senshi of Time's eyes fill up with tears of joy. 
"Oh, thank you so much! You don't know how much I've wanted this!" She 
whispers and hugs the Queen of the Moon.
"Of course I do. Now step through the portal. You're little sister's 
expecting you."
Setsuna nods and heads to the portal.
"Oh, Setsuna?"
"Yes?" She says turning around.
"I just wanted to let you know that...I'm proud of you and I love you."
A broad smile graces Setsuna's lips. She embraces her mother in a 
fierce hug. "I love you too Mom. I'll tell Sere that you said, 'hi'" 
And with another smile she jumps into the portal to be reunited with 
her family.

Rini stops for a moment. 
She could've sworn that she heard something...she turns around to see a 
familiar face.
"PU!!" Rini runs up and jumps into Setsuna's waiting arms.
"Hello small one." Setsuna says grinning broadly.
"Have you come for a visit?"
"Not quite..." 
"Setsuna?" Setsuna looks up to see Neo-Queen Serenity.
"Yes, your highness?"
"Stop that right now," She scolds. "You should know better, now come 
on. You're room's waiting for you."
"It's already prepared?" She says surprised.
"Of course I've been waiting for you to join us forever!" The light 
momentarily left Neo-Queen Serenity's eyes. "I've missed you." 
Setsuna smiles and hugs Neo-Queen Serenity. "I'm sorry little sister."
"Sister!" Rini says looking up at Setsuna with wide eyes.
"Yes Rini honey, meet your long-lost aunt Setsuna." 
"Really?!! Auntie Pu, you've gotta see your room. It's right next to 
mine. Mom keeps on saying it's for someone special, and I know that 
you've just gotta be that person!"
Rini keeps on babbling as she guides Setsuna to her room, her chubby 
fingers wrapped around Setsuna's wrist. She can hear her sister's 
chuckle and footsteps behind her.
The former guardian of time just smiles and allows herself to be 
dragged along, feeling an empty space in her heart filled for the first 
time. 
She was finally where she belonged.
She was home.
