So, you want to know more about me, eh? Well, I have no
clue why... but I'll try to fill you in. I originally made a list here of
stuff about me, but my friend Ryuslan thought that an interview style
would be better. Feel free to ask any questions of your own too. You just
might see it answered here. ;)

The Basics...
Name: Simon
Nicknames: Falkor, Strop, Steiny
Age: 31, and way old enough to know better ;)
Birthday/Starsign: 23 September 1969 / Virgo
Location: Ipswich, Queensland, Australia

The following is an interview that Ryuslan decided
to do with me so he could know me a little better. I have reproduced it
here so you may get the picture as well...

So, why did you choose the name 'Falkor'?
Well it started with the book 'The Never-Ending Story' by Michael Ende. It
was the first novel I had read cover to cover, and was also the first
movie I had ever seen in a cinema. I just seemed to like the idea of a
luck-dragon for some reason, and have used that nickname ever since. It
doesn't seem to stick in real life though.
Describe what you look like...
OK. Long brown hair, blue eyes, about 6'2" in height, 120kg in
weight.
What do you do for a living?
<joke>Professional dole bludger!</joke> You are joking,
right? That means work, doesn't it?
What would be your greatest asset?
An open mind.
And your greatest weakness?
Laziness - as ALL humans inherently are.
We all have bad habits, what's yours?
Biting my nails, and I also smoke, and trying to break that habit is
the worst of all.
OK, now for the favourites lists. What's your favourite
music?
I listen to nearly EVERYTHING! Bob Marley, Limp Bizkit, Everclear,
Fugees, Weezer, Ice Cube, Fuel, Smashing Pumpkins, Third Eye Blind,
Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Prince, 112, Method Man, Wu-Tang Clan, Hanson, Aaron
Carter, Curtis Mayfield, Leandro, Billy Joel, AC/DC, BB King, Silverchair....like
I said....almost EVERYTHING! (Well, not classical or opera. But give it
time!)
Favourite movies?
What's with these tough questions?! I liked "The Wedding
Singer" (I like 80's music, OK?!?!), "Romeo and Juliet",
"Star Trek: Insurrection", "The Never Ending Story",
"Rocky Horror Picture Show", "From Dusk Til Dawn",
"Silence of the Lambs", "Terminator 2",
"Nightmare on Elm Street", "Blade",
"Titanic", "The Sixth Sense", "Austin
Powers", "Aliens", "Blues Brothers" and pretty
much ANY horror movie (especially the B-grade movies, cos they're
hilarious).
I know you don't watch much TV, but are there any TV
shows you just can't miss?
Well... (here we go again) "Stargate", "Star
Trek", "Andromeda", "Earth: Final Conflict"
(actually almost any sci-fi stuff) and uh... I'm kinda embarrassed to
admit this, but I like "Dawson's Creek". "Home and
Away" is a not to be missed show too. I love most documentaries and
British comedies, too.
Favourite book maybe?
Pretty much anything that's at least somewhat intellectually stimulating
and fun to read.
I see your into emulation of arcade games. Any
favourites?
(Of all time) Asteroids Deluxe, Black Dragon, Bubble Bobble, Burger Time,
Circus Charlie, Double Dragon, Galaga, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, King Of Fighters
series, Metal Slug series, Pac Man, Psychic 5, Shinobi, Street Fighter II,
Tron, Wonder Boy.
And you must have a favourite food?
OK if it's edible, I'll usually eat it. On the "cheap" side;
McDonald's and Hungry Jacks -- as for "upper class" food, I love
pasta, any kind of seafood (especially lobster and barramundi), anything
Chinese or Thai, sushi, and pizza. Desserts, well there's bread and butter
pudding, or pavlova, or both! Oh yeah, and that damn potato salad that my
mum always makes.
Now for the juicy stuff- the really personal stuff. Are
you straight, gay or bi?
Wow, you sure get to the point! OK, I'm bi, but more gay than
straight.
So are you 'out of the closet'?
Sure, if people ask, then they get the truth. If they don't bother to ask,
they wouldn't suspect, simply because I'm straight acting. And since I'm
bisexual, I do actually have a history with women and people can vouch for
me, for example - my wife! But I'm happy with my life right
now...really! I'm not perfect in any way, nor have I reached complete
happiness in life, but I wouldn't change a thing about my life right now,
or my past.
Do you have a girlfriend?
I had one of those, but upgraded from Girlfriend 9.0 to Wife 1.0 a few
years ago ;) Check this
page for others experiences with this. And yes, Ailsa and I are still
together happily married.
So you wouldn't have a boyfriend then, considering your
married?
Well actually I do. Currently I'm going steady with Adam and
loving every minute with him. He's 19, really cute, tall, blonde hair,
blue eyes, and really skinny which makes me jealous of him. And he's
probably the most understanding, sincere, and open-minded guy I've ever
met. Oh, and did I mention cute? (Just in case you were wondering, Ailsa
knows all the gory details about Adam and I. I suppose I'm rather lucky to
have her support on this, she's more like a friend than a
wife/lover/partner etc.)
Hehehehe...cool question! Ummm...let's see. Probably a trip to the movies
(I love movies, I go all the time!), go out for a bite to eat in some
mellow place. Maybe have a few beers or hang out in a small place where we
could talk and get to know each other. And then...sex, sex, sex!!! Hahaha!
Just kidding, but if I clicked with somebody really well, it wouldn't be
out of the question. :)
Hehehehe, actually I have a weird method for that. I'm usually not a first
move kind of guy, so don't expect me to just walk up and grab you. BUT...I
have my ways of giving people the courage to make the first move on me.
It's hard to explain, but I usually put out enough hints to let someone
know how I feel, and if I think it's working, the hints get stronger until
I get "the desired reaction" and then it just sort of happens. I
hope that makes sense. Like I said it's hard to say exactly what it is,
but I'm usually good at guessing emotions (A whole other story) and I can
usually tell what somebody's intentions are, no matter how hard they try
to hide them. However, for some reason it gets harder for me to guess when
I know the people personally. Go figure.
To be totally honest, I don't know. That's the truth. There have been some
that I would have thought were totally straight, but actually ended up
coming on to me. Then there were those who I thought was just
experimenting with gay sex, but did it with me many times and then went on
to do it with other guys. So it's kind of hard for me to tell.
I actually get asked this question a lot, and it always baffles me. People
say I don't 'sound' 31, but who does really? Yes, I am exactly who
I say I am. Any time you guys ask me a question, I'll either tell you the
honest truth, or I'll simply say "I can't tell you". People say
that from the the views I have on the world, that I sound a lot older.
Thank you, I'm flattered! Other people say that from the casual way I talk
in my emails that I sound a lot younger. Thanks again! Actually I'm just a
big kid at heart, and the use of the words "Man",
"Dude", "Cool", and the rest is just a hard habit to
break.
Hehehe! I like this question, because it just struck me as kind of odd,
due to the fact that you know what I'm doing right now! But for
those that read this later, chances are I'll be lounging around the house
procrastinating and trying to forget about whatever responsibilities I was
supposed to be taking care of!
Ummm...geez, I don't know. I never had to watch me before. I'm pretty shy
at first, but after a while I warm up to people depending on whether or
not they want to talk to me. :) I give advice when I can and try to cheer
up anybody who doesn't look so happy. Hehehe, I feel so conceited doing
this! Oh, and I'm self conscious about my eyes. So if people make comments
or compliments about them, I get EXTREMELY shy then. So I usually don't
keep eye contact for too long. Ummm....I think that's it. Aren't I the
self cantered one?
"Sighhhh".....okay, here it is. For those of you who don't know,
I just so happen to be very self conscious about my eyes. So if you are
ever looking for a way to tease me, there ya go! It's not that there's
anything wrong with them, it's just that people whom I've never met often
stop me and refer to them as being 'pretty'. Arrrrgh! Before you even
start, know this....there is absolutely NOTHING special about my eyes at
all!!! They're just blue, that's it. Nothing more. Nothing spectacular, or
different, or exotic, and certainly nothing 'pretty' about them. I used to
be extremely weirded out by that before (ESPECIALLY in high school),
growing up as shy as I did, those compliments were always better avoided
than appreciated. But it's not so bad anymore, and I can pretty much laugh
at it now. So...now you have some ammo against me if I start hounding you
about something! :)
Honestly? No. I think of myself as being 'spiritual', but not at all
religious. Do I believe? Yes...with all my heart. I never doubted it for a
minute. That could be because of my 'programming', or it may just be
what's in my heart, who's to say at this point? What I do know is that God
exists for me and plays a large role in my life. That's spirituality to
me. It's a part of me and everything that I do.
As far as 'religion' goes, it's not for me. To me religion is using the
Bible as a textbook to tell you what your values and morals 'should' be.
It's celebrating a certain holiday just because of the date, it's saying
prayers you may or may not understand, it's sitting in a church with 100
other people to listen to a man telling them to behave and to be pure of
heart before passing around the collection plate so they can buy a new
golden candle holder.
There are a few things that really piss me off. In my opinion, you don't
have to like everybody, but you could at least respect them enough to
recognize them as human.
The one thing I dislike most is hating people that you don't even know.
That's just stupid. Racism, ageism, homophobia and everything else
involving hatred is beyond me. I think so many people are just counted out
as being less of a person because of their age or their sexual orientation
or the colour of their skin or whatever. Sometimes without even SEEING
what they look like or knowing WHO they are. They have no idea what they
miss out on or what they throw away.
I have a REALLY high tolerance for a LOT of things, and I don't expect
a whole hell of a lot from the people around me. A few friendly words, an
occasional smile, just the little things, nothing major. But even though I
don't like to hold grudges, don't go figuring ME for a jerk once I reach
my boiling point. Because if you've gotten me to the point where I'm just
totally pissed off or forced to be rude to you, you better believe I've
given you MORE than enough chances to make it right. Believe me...anyone
who has made my permanent shitlist DESERVES to be there.
