Beach, Mozzarella and Pizza in the southern part of Italy

At
first we went to Taomina, a nice village on the mountain. The hotel Timeo
was a good choice. We had a great view over the Mediterranean sea and
the active Etna. Water temperatures around 17°C allowed only brave
swimmers to enter the sea. On the way to Palermo we visited the Villa
del Casale, an antic village with very impressive mosaics. And of course,
the highlight in Sicily is the wine. We had a great introduction and tasting
at the wineries Planeta
and Donnafugata.
Impressive
are the full-body red wines as well as the warm welcome of the Sicilians. |

Seven
years after our honeymoon in Rome we enjoyed our second time in town.
And we could visit the sights we missed last time like the Spanish stairs
and the Colosseo.
