Jordan Baseball Coaching Staff

 

 

Head Coach:  Devy Bell

Coach Bell has been around the Jordan baseball program now for 18 years.  He is a 1987 graduate from UNC at Chapel Hill.  He played baseball and lettered all four years under Coach Mike Roberts.  Coach Bell was a long-time assistant for 14 years to Coach David Davis who is now Jordan’s Athletic Director.  Coach Bell is beginning his 4^th year at the helm of the Jordan Baseball program.

 

Assistant Coach:    Dan Hall

Coach Hall is a 1992 graduate of Jordan High School and one of the first players coached by Coach Davis and Coach Bell.  Coach Hall is a 1996 graduate of UNCG and received certification in Physical Education from NCCU in 2003. Prior to Jordan, he was an assistant baseball coach at Orange High School where he was involved in both the High School and American Legion programs. Coach Hall is beginning his 4^th year at Jordan. He is also camp director for the Jordan Baseball Camp held each June.

 

Assistant Coach:  Chris Bowling

Coach Bowling was also one of the first players coached by Davis and Bell.  He played along with Coach Hall during the early 90’s and has been a great contribution to our program.  He is a graduate from UNC at Chapel Hill where he served as team manager.  He works at Hope Valley Elementary and comes over to Jordan in the afternoon for practice.  We are very pleased to have Chris working with our young players as he offers a great amount of knowledge and patience.

 

Junior Varsity Head Coach:      Greg Pruitt

Coach Pruitt has been involved with the Jordan Baseball program since the early1990’s. Much of the structures in and around our baseball facility are a direct result of Coach Pruitt’s contribution to the program. He has over 20 years of coaching high school players throughout the triangle area, and brings a wealth of knowledge to our program. In addition to coaching, Coach Pruitt has been a scout for both the Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Royals organizations. Coach Pruitt also often does individual skill instruction for all areas of the game. Coach Pruitt’s son Daniel ,a former Jordan and UNC-Asheville player, often helps with coaching duties as well.

 

Assistant Coach:   Andy Zeilman

Coach Zeilman is returning to the Jordan Baseball program this year. After a stint at Riverside High School, Coach Zeilman is on staff at Jordan teaching Physical Education and coaching

basketball and baseball. Coach Zeilman was the Head JV coach at Jordan during the 1999-2001 seasons. He is also a graduate of Jordan High School.
