Leftenant | Chris Lewis | Overview: |

Oil, crude oil to be exact, sparked a bidding war that involved the Lewis family. In the end, they were successful in obtaining the rights to several oil deposits on Veckholm. It was a real coup for the Lewis family as the oil proved to be of the highest quality, easily refined for use in conventional fighter's turbine engine, and other aircraft that require top octane fuels.
However, this also sparked a bitter war between Lewis Fuels and Harrison Energy Ltd. This war between these two companies has lasted more than 20 years. Chris was supposed to jump into the business, but he had no such desires. His younger brother and sister were more than willing to step up in his place. Instead, Chris had aspirations of joining the military and service the Steiner side of the Federated Commonwealth. Chris Lewis was sent to St. Vincents School for Boys, his father hoping that the military was a passing fad. While at this Preparatory School, Chris learned how he could make some money on the side, becoming the source of various contrabands. They were harmless, things like comic books, candy, and a few porn magazines, all things forbidden by the school. |
| Though he never quite made enough to pay for his travel to and attendance at Nagelring Academy, he applied anyway. His father intercepted his acceptance letter and the two had a long talk, man to man, not father to son. After that conversation was over, Chris' expenses were all paid by the family, and his father gave him his blessing to attend the military academy.
His first service was aboard a dropship, serving as its primary weapons officer. Chris did rather well for himself, however, he found himself caught on board a ship that strongly supported the Steiner side of the Federated Commonwealth. Their views rubbed off on him, and he too supported "the cause." Chris Lewis was transferred to an Intruder class dropship, with a larger crew, and different ideals. What he never knew, what that he was in the presence of Heimdall recruiters. They saw his potential, and slowly over two years, they worked on him. They slowly picked away at all the idea his former crew planted in his head. They did not give him preconceived notions on the other side of the coin, but rather, with a friendly approach, they gave him the chance to see for himself. By the time Chris finished his tour, he was well inside the Heimdall fold, and they shipped him to New Avalon for assignment to the secret project that is the Zeus class Destroyer. By doing so, they fulfilled a promise they made to him. While Chris does not think of himself as a strong supporter of either side, Heimdall is not bothered by his mind-set. They know that he is an honourable man, and they trust him to do his job to the best of his ability. |
