The House Durant
The House of Durant is a minor one, the family is not well known for
supplying intelligence from the Capellan Confederation, which is to the liking of the MIIO. They also serve the Federated Commonwealth as a resting or staging point for intelligence missions into Capellan space. The family business is in supplying electronic circuits for non-military application, this is used to cover their service to the MIIO.
A rival family in the Capellan Confederation has been troublesome for the Durants as the House of Hong wants a larger market share of the electronic circuits. The House ruler has escalated this rivalry.
Background:
Her first desire was not to become the next in line for the family title. Instead, she had aspirations of becoming an agent for the MIIO, however, after her parents deaths in 3057, she decided to stay with her sister Tamia, and help where she could.
With the family business in the care of a management company, and the intelligence network under control of the MIIO, the Marquessa has a lot of free time. She does not like to socialize with her fellow nobles, but she does make appearances to keep them talking.>
In December of 3059, after the attack on her family's estate by the Hong's, it left her the sole survivor of the House of Durant. Reluctantly, she took the title of Marquessa, then tended to more important matters after her recovery in early January of 3060.
Nathan Pietch, the family protector, announced his failure to protect the Durants once again, and gave her his resignation. The Marquessa refused, stating that no one could have ever foreseen such a blatant attack upon their estate. She requested that he become her personal body guard, reminding him that she still had faith in him, even if he did not. She has total faith and trust in Nathan, even though her parents and older sister died while he was the family's protector.
Nathan and the Marquessa devised a plan to get revenge, and left immediately for Outreach, the one place in the whole Inner Sphere that she would be safe. The Marquessa agreed, but made sure to bring Briehton along.
The Genetic Slave Girl of Lahti was still heartbroken over the loss of her owner, and was wallowing in depression. The Marquessa never desired to own a slave, but knew that Briehton would not recover without someone for her to serve. Before landing on Outreach in early
February, the Marquessa and Briehton had become as one unit, which lead the new owner of Briehton to wonder how she ever got along without a personal servant.
Though she had never wanted a slave like Briehton for herself, the Marquessa would kill anyone who tried to take Briehton away from her. Her feelings for Briehton runs deep as the Marquessa commissioned a photographer to take a series of pictures of Briehton (a few can be found in Briehton's bio), many of which were very revealing of her attractive personal servant.
Note: The photograph of Briehton with the house in the background is currently on display in the Marquessa's living quarters for all to see.
