Hauptmann | Penthesilea Aspasia Diamanten | Overview: |
![]() |
Born to a Noble family with a long history of Military service, Penthesilea was almost destined to follow in the footsteps of those that had gone before her.
The Diamanten Family has always been possessed of wealth and political power, even more so since their recent purchase of the once troubled 'Baker Pharmaceuticals', a move which has made them one of the more influential families in not only the Lyran Commonwealth, but the Federated Commonwealth as well. Going first into Cameron Naval Academy, she excelled in her classes, a sign that her family took to mean that she was to follow the Naval traditions of her forebears, a notion that Penthesileas' capricious nature was soon to overturn. When, upon graduation, she chose to attend the Sanglamore Academy, the more astute of her relatives started to worry, for though the school was one of the most prestigious in the IS, the fact that it did not have an attached Naval program was not lost upon them. Embracing the Lyrans' new military doctrine, Penthesilea chose instead to enter the Powered Armour Corp. program, embarking upon a career as a 'Space Marine' under the LCAF's new naval organization, and serving diligently for several years with honours. Upon the death of her older brother Alexander during the Free Worlds League and Cappellan Confederation incursions, a conflict during which she lost her own left hand, Penthesilea became the official heir to the Diamanten fortune, a duty that she |
| acquired upon the passing of her father two years later. Her brothers death, her injuries, and the stresses of her fathers onset of ill health led to the now 'Lady Diamanten' taking a Sabbatical, a leave that she spent at the Nagelring cross-training in the skills that would enable her to follow the path her father had always wanted for her, thus allowing her to transfer in to the Navy proper.
Due to her extensive experience, as well in recognition of her battlefield commissions during her Marine commands, Penthesilea was able to move rapidly through the lower ranks, reaching First Officer position on the newly commissioned CAS Fylgja just months before her fathers passing. Though offered the opportunity to continue her tour on the Fylgja beyond the shakedown cruise (albeit at a step-down in position), Penthesilea has chosen to take her Hauptmann rank and seek actual service experience in place of a Champaign tour on the Commonwealth's flagship. |
