Kommandant | Alexander Brickler | Overview: |
![]() |
Having a small fleet of cargo dropships and a single Tramp class jumpship can present both opportunity, and danger. Through the past hundred years the Brickler family has been trying to earn enough money to upgrade their existing equipment, with a break through roughly 30 years ago. The family traded in their Merchant class jumpship for an old Tramp class jumpship. It gave them the capability to move one more of their dropships but more importantly, the Tramp class jumpship can defend itself against pirate attacks. However, they still have to move other dropships by other means, having to pay other jumpships for ferry service. But the Bricklers felt they had made the right move by trading in a Merchant class jumpship for a Tramp. Much to the delight of his father, Alexander took an interest in the family business, and he seemed to be getting the hang of things quickly. It was hoped that both he and his sister Denise would take over the business together. And while it looked like it was going to happen, an attack on their jumpship changed everything. Alexander got his first taste of combat and he took command of an Extended Range Large Laser, one of the ship's eight, and he helped defend the ship from being boarded. Alexander was responsible for one kill, and damaging three other Aerospace Fighters. It was the defining moment in his life. The first chance he got, Alexander enrolled at the Kilborne Academy, and he accomplished his goal to become a Jumpship Pilot. However, an unexpected turn of events opened doors for him, as he graduated at the top of his class, and was sent to Officer Candidate School. It was another defining moment for Alexander Brickler, as it paved the way to his assignment as Kommandant aboard the FSS |
| Deep Blue Sea. To his surprise, his first assignment landed him as Executive Officer on board the dropship, FSS Hell Forge. Alexander served the Federated Suns exceptionally well, earning him a chance to further advance his training at a Naval Academy. Once again he found himself in Officer Candidate School, this time in the Naval Division. When it was all over, he was trained as a ship's crewman and a warship pilot. With all those credentials, he was assigned as ship's captain on board the jumpship FSS Tidus, and later as Executive Officer for the FSS Fox Fire, a Fox Class Corvette. Alexander Brickler was not demoted in rank, it was simply the fact that he needed some experience on board a warship before taking command of one. Alexander served admirably on both vessels without incident, though he did express his loyalties to the Davion throne when the Steiner side of the Federated Commonwealth ceeded from the Commonwealth. |
