Hauptmann Sergio Caporelli Overview:
Marcus Caporelli is an accomplished diplomat, serving the Federated Suns and the Federated Commonwealth admirably. He took his family with him when he was assigned to the Draconis Combine. This expanded his son's horizons and added some culture into his life.

Marcus understood the value of the military, thus he shipped Sergio off to Military School, hoping nothing but the best for his son. Sergio did not disappoint, as he did will enough to receive some early advanced training before heading off to NAIS College of Military Science, where to his father's surprise, he was trained as an Aerospace Pilot. His time there was well spent, earning him a trip to Officer Candidate School.

His first action was impressive, earning him great merit, but it also ended up costing him his flight status as his exploits out in the Periphery had him catching an uncommon blood disorder. To this day he is undergoing medical treatment. His flight status was supposed to be temporarily revoked, however, a side effect of the medication is known to cause black outs and temporary blindness when under excessive G Forces, and in a dogfight, a pilot is constantly under these excessive stresses.

The medication Sergio is taking weakens the membrane of the occipital lobe. During high G Forces, blood is forced to the back of the brain, and with the occipital lobe in a weakened state, the pilot blacks out prematurely. When the pilot awakens, they suffer temporary blindness that lasts up to 48 hours. Unfortunately there is no known cure for the disorder, so Sergio will be taking medication for the rest of his life. Although his flight status is still listed as temporarily revoked for medical reasons, realistically, his fighter piloting career is over.

His recovery took three years, and during that time, a nurse that initially treated Sergio, Sofia Masters, took a romantic interest in the pilot. This was not their first meeting, as he spent several sessions for various reasons in NAIS's medical wing, mainly check ups and minor injuries. Though nothing developed at that time, she recognized him upon his return to NAIS for treatment. She helped him recover as best she could, using some of her time off in the process. The pair eventually became a couple, and were married prior to Sergio's next assignment.

Since recovering from the effect of the blood disorder he contracted during his first tour, he has continued to work with fighter pilots and aerospace craft. His command status was never revoked, and his commanding officer in the 2nd New Ivaarsen Chasseurs put him on the right path, to both, get past his inability to pilot a fighter and to help him realize his full potential as an officer in the fighter corp. The pair of them moved on together to the 8th Crucis Lancers, and that is where Sergio began to learn the basics for being a Commander Aero Group.

Sergio spent four years with the Lancers before being talked into rejoining his very first unit. There he was promoted to the job of C.A.G. fulltime. Taking the bull by the horns, Sergio Caporelli has done an excellent job as C.A.G. for the 8th Syrtis Fusiliers RCT. With the birth of a new class of warship that carried a full Wing of Aerospace fighters, Sergio was brought in to the C.A.G. role. With his vast experience, that is one position that command is not worried about concerning the Deep Blue Sea.
