Genetic Slave Girl of Lahti

Description:

The planet Lahti dove into genetics, since there was not much else on the planet worthwhile. Scientists there discovered the secrets of genetics tampering much like the Clans, but they took it to a whole new level. They figured out how to alter a person's personality, temperament, and susceptibility to suggestion. They also uncovered the ability to alter the physical appearance, almost to a customer's preference. A side effect of their tampering gave three results to these genetically engineered slaves; the slave appears to stop aging around the ages of 14 to 16 (or about puberty), they tend to be a little child-like (even as they grown older), and their life span is unknown.

Most parts of the Inner Sphere frowns on slavery, and those who do engage in slavery on some level, do not like the idea of genetically bread slaves. However, those who have owned one consider themselves rather fortunate. One Genetic Slave from Lahti starts at one million c-bills, and have been known to cost upwards of 50 million, with most enhancements and trainings as part of the package. Another factor that makes these slaves so expensive is availability. The company that produces these genetic slaves has a limited production. This is due in part to the facilities required to house the slaves before they are old enough to sell. Their high cost makes handing them down through the family a common practice among owners.

Lahti is located on the fringe of the Free Worlds League. It is not easily accessible, however, trade to this planet is not controlled by the government. It is believed that the taxes generated from Lahti is too high to restrict the flow of people and goods to the planet.

They are unable to perform protective duties as they are bread to not be able to attack another person. This was integrated to protect their owner from having their slave turn on them. Typical use of a Genetic Slave of Lahti is as a personal servant or assistant.

Background:

Briehton was originally purchased for Tamia Durant by her father. She had set back the Marquess a large sum, but it was the one thing that Tamia really wanted, and in a way, needed. Tamia had been born with an incurable ailment that made it difficult for her to walk on her own. Part of training package for Briehton was many physiotherapy techniques.

When the trouble at the estate took place, Briehton was sent to another location at Tamia's command. Briehton begged her not to order her away, but Tamia put her foot down and sent the slave girl away. The loss of her owner hurt her deeply. It wasn't until her sister, the new Marquessa, took ownership of her, that she began to heal emotionally.

Though Briehton still misses her first owner, Tamia Durant, she serves the only surviving member of the Durant family to the best of ability. Sometimes she feels a little guilty about enjoying her new owner over Tamia, since the Marquessa treats her a little more like a friend than Tamia did. However, Briehton is well aware of her place as the Marquessa's personal property, but sometimes she can be a little too mischievous for the Marquessa's taste. Briegton does have a tendency to push her luck, which gets her into trouble. She does this deliberately to allow the Marquessa to release some of her pent up emotions.

Briehton is well treated and she knows it, however, she is smart enough to know not to abuse her situation. She loves the Marquessa deeply, as genetic slaves are trained to do, but Briehton knows her feelings are stronger than her makers had intended, due mainly in part to way the Marquessa treats her. Briehton is very happy in her situation, and would tell that to anyone who would ask, and would rather die than be torn away from her owner.

Note: The photograph of Briehton with the house in the background is currently on display in the Marquessa's living quarters for all to see.
