We meet a lot of people online asking about clans/teams and if we're recruiting, etc. Joining us isn't that hard. All we're looking for is the following: - You should enjoy playing map mods - We play standard maps at times, but we're a modding team. - Be able to play on the weekend - BK gathers, as a group Friday or Saturday nights, as individual time allows. - Be a competent player - Enough so that you have BSW and stay current on RSE products. - Be fun to play with, and enjoy our company - the game is supposed to be fun. - Have a decent connection. You're welcome to play, if you're on 56k, but gameplay will be inconsistent. - If you'd like your own page on our site, you need to provide information and pictures for it. There are three tiers of true membership, though we don't take it all too seriously. We do not have one leader, but four. None of us will tell you how or when to play - our leadership merely refers to offline work.
Captains (founding members):This tier is currently restricted to the founding members, Captain being our highest rank. We all have roots in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and are personal friends. We're also the ones who do all the work - making the maps, updating the website, e-mailing communicae, creating clan art, etc. This is not to rule out a fifth or sixth Captain by any means. It's just that the Captains will maintain responsibility for the "work" side of playing.
Lieutenants (devoted primarily to our Clan): We'll accept players who've simply gamed with us and met the rather loose criteria outlined above, but it means relinquishing any primary allegiance to another clan. LT's can be reservists in any number of other clans if they wish. LT's have no work to do, other than helping us playtest map mods - just fun for the LT's!!!
Sergeants (only devoted to our clan as a Reserve members):Likely indviduals are those players who hold rank in another clan, but who also play with us frequently. These individuals will be noted on the list below as "Sergeants." Note to reservists: When playing with us, feel free to simply add -=(BKr)=- in front of your name, the lower case "r" denoting you as a reserve member of Team Bad Karma. To lose the "r" - join us full tim and be an LT.!
Privates (Any online grunt who is on our team at any given time):The John Does and other clanners of the world.
Clan Policies: 1. Always green up when ready to play. We make visitors do it, so we should lead by example. 2. Never, EVER, intentionally kill someone on your own team, even if they're being a jerk. 3. When leaving our room, wait until the main screen appears, and exit normally. 4. When hosting, be cordial to visitors - take suggestions (within reason) 5. When hosting, keep the games fair - this can mean many things, such as: - Don't switch maps too frequently - let the visitors get acclimated. - Put more people on the visiting team, or play random teams. - Make the uniforms fair - nothing too bright for the visitors (or us!). - If you load a sniper map, make sure players are aware - same when you go back to assault. 6. Our standard way of playing (currently) is: - BSW turned on. - Kit Restrict the two BSW grenade launchers. - Team adversarial only - survival does not work with our map mods. - Medium armor only - no light, heavy, or random. - Bad Karma is usually blue team wearing blue. Opposition is gold, wearing wood - Play with a 3:00 time limit, unless the map is very large - then play with 5:00 limit. - Play with "Reticle Knock" turned on, and "Third Person" turned off, for realism. 7. Have fun when hosting! Do some pistol/shotgun/sniper only games - people dig it! 8. When present, but NOT hosting, do the host a favor by assisting the guests - hosts are busy! 9. When hosting - keep your chatter to a minimum - launch when all are green 10. Remember to NEVER play any game form except team survival on Bad Karma map mods. 11. When testing new maps (ours or otherwise), try and do it when it's just us or only a few people in the room.
