BAD KARMA  Gold Leader
"The Punisher"
Specialties: Communication, Support Fire
Played by: Paul Malmstrom
Hailing from: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Shout-Outs (in no particular order):
The other Team Leaders (Captains), for being just that.
The Lieutenants, for helping our clan grow, in numbers and in tactics.
Anyone who's ever gamed with us on the Zone - for the playtesting and support.
GravediGGa - for teaching us how to mod via.his tutorials. (he has "object maps" down to a science!)
Those S.M.U.R.F. dudes - for all the weapons...
My Magic (see my links) Gaming Group - hope they can join us in Rainbow play sometime soon.

My family and friends, who have realized and accepted that I've a kid's imagination, housed in an adult mind, playing a game which requires both.
1.   Kelly's Heroes (Bad Karma) - the sound effects still get me disoriented, and Roy Batty and I put them in!!
2.   Met Barge In (Vegas Gang) - a supreme test of strategy and tactics.
3.   POW Camp (Bad Karma) - extensively modded, it's almost a new map.
4.   Winter Hunt (Bad Karma) - an adaptation of Vegas Gang's Bunker Hill map.
5.   Basement Blitz (Bad Karma) - who has the guts to get to the other side? (good shotgun/pistol map)
6.   Covered Bridge (Bad Karma) - Old train tracks with a twist - dusty conditions and a covered bridge...
7.   NORAD I (Bad Karma) - a favorite of most who've played it - anything's possible.
8.   Thunderdome (Bad Karma) - totally chaotic - good luck!
9.   Mule Path (Vegas Gang) - a great example of an 'area map' (see Modding techniques).
10. Break on Through (Bad Karma) - fun stuff - best when frags are disabled (another good shotgun map).
(Note: GravediGGa's maps deserve more credit for playing large games,
but for small to medium sized games, these are my digs.)

Favored Map Mods
Favored Weapons (Featuring CLANSMURF'S BSW Mod)
1.   M-62 .50 caliber - (BSW) - Lots of stopping power on this new assault rifle.
2.   Colt M-635-SD (BSW) - My main weapon vs. the computer tangos, it's rate of fire makes it a viable MP weap.
3.   Spectre SMG (BSW) - Tried and tested, you can run and gun with this one most effectively.
4.   HK PDW (RS) - High rate of fire - my run and gun weapon.
5.   Blaser R93 Tactical (BSW) - Full clip and excellent zoom make it my standard sniping gun.
6.   Groza Thunderstorm-SD (BSW) - Rate of fire and silence can be a killer combo.
7.   92FS 9mm-SD (RS) - All you can hear is the click of the hammer falling. Excellent sidearm.
8.   Franchi Spas-15 auto-shotgun (BSW) - Only good for games where you need to put your one man down.
9.  .40 USP pistol (RS)- 13 rounds and a heavy punch have made this a fave sidearm.
10. Stand-alone heartbeat sensor (RS) - not a weapon, but nets me more kills than anything else on small maps.
Favored Tactics
The following are personal rules that I try to stay disciplined at:

Communication - using the MP Bound keys to let my team know what I'm up to.  I also check my map frequently to see where they're at.

Support fire  - I usually back up my more aggressive teammates by providing suppressive fire - those "run and gun" guys need cover fire, so they can advance.

Proper reloading - I seldom let my weapon run dry before I slap a fresh magazine in.  If I get down to 8-12 rounds on an assault gun, I try and find a safe spot to reload.

Deception - quite often, I will get psychological on my opponents.  Example - fragging/smoking one door, only to re-deploy and appear at another door where they are no longer looking.
Magic: The Gathering - A collectible card game - I've been playing Magic since the release of 'Fallen Empires.' This link hooks you up with Wizards of the Coast, the creators of the game.
Introduction:
I'm one of the non-military members of the Clan - haven't served - but compensate somewhat by the fact that I'm much more well versed in tactics, strategy, equipment, and weapons than the average layperson. My personal focus is on rotary aircraft - a.k.a. helicopters.   I play RS for small scale tactical fun.  For large scale warring, Civilization II is my game.  For adrenaline, I love flight simulators.  While I haven't served in the military, I do have three-dimensional tactical experience from playing paintball pretty extensively.

When playing Rogue Spear online, I adopt the persona of my favorite character from the Marvel Comics product line - The Punisher - a.k.a. Frank Castle.  He's a "take no prisoners" guy, so I figured he'd fit right into a Rainbow Six team....

with my Karma. Sorry."

Commonly referred to in my home as "the military channel," the cable station actually runs a pretty decent website as well.  If you want to learn more about Special Forces, weapons, or anything military, it's a nice site. Yes - they have 'regular' history stuff too.
