Introduction:Why 'Thrawn', you ask? Sometimes I just like the cold, calculating, intelligent bad guys. So I adopted the persona (online, of course) of the Grand Admiral himself (star wars 'heir to the empire' series), a tactical genius in his own right. My hobbies include: music, movies, gaming, reading; whatever keeps my mind occupied. Thanks for dropping in!
Shout-Outs (in no particular order):
Mike (Captain Willard) and Larry (Roy Batty)...for originally hooking me on Rainbow Six.
Paul (The Punisher), for the constant exchange of information and great conversation when it comes to this game and web site.
Neal (Harry Callahan), for being a great listener and for the downright great game play.
The folks at ARMM, for what has to be the best weapon mods ever (IMHO) - NATO 3.0
Clan S.M.U.R.F. - for BSW - yin to NATO's Yang.
All the players that have played with us online and given great feedback about our maps. Thanks!
And to my Okayplayers.....fam like WHAT!
Thrawn's Picks:
Favored Map Mods
1. Kelly's Heroes (Bad Karma) - A favorite by all, the sounds make it interesting!
2. Splish Splash (Vegas Gang) - The map that 'made' me, and introduced my ambush style to my clanners.
3. Any of Gravedigga's maps (GravediGGa) - I like 'em all - GravediGGa set the standard for everyone else.
4. Met Barge In (Vegas Gang) - Great map - tactical and fast.If you rush in, look left AND right!
5. Mule Path (Vegas Gang) - A nice purpose built map. You can snipe or assault.
6. Chinatown (Bad Karma) - Good starts on both sides. You never know where the game will end in this one.
7. Turkish Bloodbath (Bad Karma) - Small, fast map. "Which way are you going?" :P
8. Thunderdome (Bad Karma) - One of my favorite ambush maps; though don't sit still too long.
9. Break on Through (Bad Karma) - A tweak to City Street Large, this one's fast. Disable frags for more adrenaline.
10.   Bunker Hill (Vegas Gang) - One of the best Sib mods ever. It suits any play style - great team map.
Favored Weapons (Featuring CLANSMURF'S BSW Mod, and ARMM's NATO 3 Mod):
1. Steyr AUG-P (BSW) - Great all-around weapon. The 42-round magazine will save you in a firefight.
2. Blaser R93 Tactical (BSW) - A favored sniper rifle - blindingly accurate and powerful.
3. HK MP5K-PDW (BSW) - Great for close quarters battling. Dependable and accurate.
4. HK SMG II (BSW) - When you can have a submachine gun as a secondary, who needs a pistol?
5. FN P90 (NATO 3) - A great rate of fire and large magazine, this one is great for skirmishes.
6. Robar .50 BMG (BSW) - Accept no substitute - this is THE powerful bolt action sniper rifle.
7. Colt M4A1-SD (BSW) - Great balance between close-in fighting and med. range, quiet enough to surprise 'em.
8. AWM Super Magnum (NATO 3) - Sniper rifle, the .338 Lapua round is a nice balance for long distance kills.
9. Franchi SPAS 15 - A great "auto-shotty" for that up close and personal work.
10.  Barret M82A2 (BSW) - Another sniper rifle, this .50 caliber semi-auto monster will keep them down.
Favored Tactics:
Well, if I were advising another player on tactics, I'd have to say the following:

Communicate with your teammates, and often!! Use those MP Bound Keys - that's what they're there for (typing messages will get you killed every time).

Know when to be aggressive and when to be more passive. Depending on the map, your assault strategy will depend on map size, and how many teammates you have.

Stay down!! Become proficient at 'crouching' and 'peeking.' Crouching and moving is my preferred tactic, unless I know for a fact that the enemy is far away, in which case I'll stand and run.

Pick your area. When working with your team, keep in mind that room-clearing is most efficient when each player picks a side of the room and advances. This will also reduce friendly fire incidents on your team.

Sniping is an art of stealth and patience. Despite what else you hear, sniping IS camping. You're not there to mow the other team down - you're there to select your best shot and take it. And when sniping, always remember to duck, shoot, and duck again. It'll save your ass.
Thrawn's Personal Links:

Vintage VR
- the gaming store where I play my Rogue Spear. They also have 16 version 3.0 Virtual World pods (for those of you who've played in those, you'll know what I'm talking about). VintageVR is also where I play my other favorite internet game, Counterstrike (see next link).

Counter-Strike
- A modification of the game Half Life - If you haven't heard of this game by now, you've probably been hidden under a rock. When I feel like a run and gun game and a break from Rogue Spear, I play this game. I play on many different servers, plus VintageVR's own CS server.

Day of Defeat - Another modification of Half-Life - This one is based on WWII; specifically 1944 Western Europe. The gameplay environment is unbelievable. From the English/German voice communications, to the ambient sound, and the realistic weapons, this is an excellent mod; And it's still in it's early beta stages!!

OkayPlayer
- (Music) - Quite arguably one of the best artist sites on the net. A living, breathing community of like-minded people who share a common love: music (mostly hip-hop/R&B, but not limited to) Of course, That's not the only things that are discussed. The forums are pretty intense. The artists are known to interect regularly with the visitors., which makes this site special. Current supported artists are: The Roots, D'Angleo, Common, The Jazzyfatnastees, Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek, and Dilated Peoples. Check it out!!
