The 5 major reasons for an operating system are: user interface, security, file management, task management and device management. User Interface is the way that the user interacts with the computer, whether it allows it to type in commands or if you are able to click and the computer recieves a command. Security is how the computer saves things, whether it saves it to the netwrok or local security. File management is how the computer programs files and uses them. It allows you to open multiple files at once, and for them to still be organized. Tak management allows the computer to do multiple talks at once, depending on the amount of storage used. It also allows the computer to associate certain commands with certain tasks. Device Management allows the computer to run multiple devices which allows the tasks and files to run without the user manually putting them in.Those are the five major reasons for an operating system. |
