| I became a Christian in 1973 as a child in the city of Naxu, Vanvien, Laos. I started in Laos 1969 until 1975. From there I came to the United States, May 23, 1978. I spoke no English and wanted to learn.. I started school in Selma, Alabama, for a year. I lived with Father Edward Denneker in Monroe, Georgia, for a year, and learned to speak English. I also went to high school there for a year. My family had moved to Chicago in 1980 during the summer. We could not stay in Chicago, so we moved to Joliet, Illinois, for 6 months and I went to Centrol high school there for a semester. We moved to Kankakee, Illinois, in 1981. I went to Eastridge H S and I graduated High school there in June 1982. I was married to Ka T. Her, and we moved on to Danvile, IL. I went to work in an electric workshop for 6 months and also went to school at Dnvile Area Technical College. I moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in August 1983. I went to school at Milwaukee Area Technical College. I graduated with my AA degree in Human Service. I went on to Carthage College, and graduated with a BA degree a major in religion and minor in social work. I worked at Veau School and Story School as a para- professional for a year. I worked for the state welfare program for a year, and I moved on to worked for SDC as family support staff for three years. I continued my school in the DELTO program in order to become an ordained minister, and was graduated in 2003 from St. Louis Seminary. I was called to be pastor for Hmong Hope In Milwaukee for 3 years after I graduated from DELTO. In 2006 I accepted a call to work at Redeemer Lutheran in Manitowoc, Wisconsin in 2006. My family has 10 people: Sheng Thao Her - mother, Ka T. Her - wife, Vang Her - son, Xaiv Ntaaj Her - son, Ntxoo Her - daughter, Phuab Her - daughter, Shen Her - daughter, Chu Zaaj Her - son, and Gaonub Her - daughter. I also have two daughter inlows: Pa Xiong Her and Mai Lee Lor Her; and two nephews Ana Bell (Ntxhais) Her, and Balley (Ka) Her. I am now still serving the Lord at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Manitowac, Wisconsin. It has been 3 years now. I still plan to spread the word of our Lord taking one step at a time.
