| The Faith Works Trust is a para-church organisation, ancd since its founding in 1990 has produced a Diary of Events 2002-2004, which aim to share the Christian truth in a (w)holistic way. It also acts as a resource for other charities or works, in raising awareness or funds. It has begun a conservation programme at Spring Meadow Farm, where it is based, working with volunteers and a local conservation team. This development means that, each new year, ther are fresh opportunities for local people and visitors to help, enjoy or learn about the countryside. The 17 acre farm of Christmas trees, with its tended wildflower meadow, bluebell walk, cycle path and woodland, provides a wonderful setting for retreats, concerts, exhibitions and other peaceful and wholesome activities, as well as providing a field study centre of schools, colleges and the community. This year the Trust is hoping to begin a pilot project with schools around the "Hertfordshire Bourne" (Bourne Gutter) , which runs intermittently through the farm, to work with other organisations to instruct on water provision and extraction, and water's value as a global resource. This project will link with the water farming at Spring Meadow Farm, proposed for this year; and will involve schools and community groups in healthy and interesting walks, painting / sketching, nature study and viewing historic and present water extraction methods. Run as a "not for profut" organisation, all the Trsut events are organised by professional Christian volunteers. |
