Actors DJ Qualls and Eliza Dushku couldn't say no to their fans Wednesday in Minnesota. The stars of "The New Guy," a teenage comedy that opens next week, were promoting the movie at the Mall of America, where they were scheduled to sign autographs for an hour. But they ended up extending the gig to more than two hours after Qualls grabbed a microphone and promised that no one who had stood in line would be turned away.

"It's personal to me when people take the time to show up," said Qualls, who skyrocketed to fame with the comedy "Road Trip." "It's the same reason I answer all my fan mail. It's the ultimate compliment."

Dushku (TV's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") supported that sentiment. "It's pretty flattering that all these people would come out," she said. "I'll stay as long as they want."
